I intend to participate in the 2019 Zcash Foundation Community Advisory Panel.
If someone has a +1 to spare, I would be more than happy to get serve on the advisory panel.
Welcome to forums newcomers!
I would like to join the community advisory panel to advocate for stability in the young and fragile Zcash ecosystem. I believe we should choose to allow a 3 way split of 20% block reward between the foundation, ecc, and an independent development fund to be distributed via voting process.
@boxalex and everyone else: Can you send me your question suggestions for the Community Advisory Panel? Specifically those that are outside of this thread, the ones here I can find easily.
Also, if anyone wants to organize a similar panel with open invitations, I encourage you to go for it. You gotta do it yourself though. From ZF’s guidance:
While we don’t intend to formally analyze sentiment beyond the three methods described, the Foundation is happy to consider other forms of community feedback collected by other parties during the same two-week period. We will include such data in our summary if it is valuable and was collected in good faith.
I am planning to hold a stake-weighted poll and ask the same questions that ZF ends up putting together. Just me personally — not me as a ZF employee. Haven’t quite worked out a manageable-by-Sonya implementation yet
Welcome to the forums everyone!
Just to catch everyone up who just joined because of Zookos tweets like this: https://twitter.com/zooko/status/1167494773428690944?s=19
The Community Advisory Panel consists of members selected to be part of last year’s panel and each previous member has an opportunity to invite one additional person.
Please read these blog posts from Josh about the Panel selection process here: NOW and LAST YEAR
Please understand that there are only so many spots available so not everyone who has just joined will be able to be added. I hope members of last year’s panel who have not yet invited anyone will stop by this thread to +1 for those interested.
I made a post. If there is any +1s floating around i’d be happy to take one. https://twitter.com/JHancock/status/1167547738575142912?s=20
I wrote the proposal EIP-2025 which is for block reward funding for ethereum and so have thought quite a bit about community funding in general.
I also helped write the EIP- for Blake2b to allow for invulnerability between Ethereum, and Zcash. Which is getting into the upcoming fork Istanbul.
@acityinohio @sonya I give my +1 to @_eric
@anon16456014 much appreciated t/y!
Thx Sonya, i think the most important questions are posted allready. Of course some more come into my mind, especially the trademark case one. I will think about the best questions and message or post here.
If it’s a one for a greater community and not only invite only i’am willing to help out with some tasks if you want, voluntary. Let me know if you need some help.
Yep, totally open poll. I’ll make a thread later about the design that I have in mind, and ping you for suggestions.
Hey everyone! I am a researcher for The Block and in the past have done a piece on the Founders Reward. https://www.theblockcrypto.com/2019/08/07/an-analysis-of-zcashs-founders-reward/. Personally, I have been interested in Zcash since before it launched, and recently took part in this Zcash Block Reward Discussion. Zcash Block Reward Discussion - YouTube. I hope to participate in the Community Advisory Panel with many of you and would be an honor to be able to take part!
Hey Zcash enthusiasts, happy to be a member of the Community Advisory Panel.
I am a Genesis Block Miner, have been expanding as a private miner ever since. I am from Canada and plan to contribute what I can to this panel to increase the adoption rate of Zcash towards the 2050 target.
Thanks for the invite @amiller
Anyone still have an invite? I’d also like to join the Community Advisory Panel.
If all of you forum guys are going to be invited and vote on the community advisory panel i will be the only one voting on the forum, lol. Just kidding a bit, not a serious post at all.
You mean “we” right? ; )
Just asking for some updates as i didn’t see any news/updates regarding the following points and with only about ~2 days bevor voting starts i think it’s time to know some things:
-
how are the miners going to vote? What is the mechanism for them?
-
Are the Zcash miners even aware that in 2 days they have a vote? If yes, how did the ZF reached out to them and if no, why not?
-
Are Bitmain/Innosilicon aware or have been contacted? I could be wrong, but i guess they run the biggest ZEC mining operations or at least some of the biggest in worst case.
-
How are the miner votes counted at all? I mean can a miner vote over the whole period or just once or how is it planned?
-
Could someone renting hashpower for Zcash for a very short time of period game the process of voting? In the meaning of is it possible to rent just for 1-2 hours hashpower and submit a vote without having literally any own mining operations?
Thx in advance. I think these are important questions regarding the miner vote which is part of the whole vote organized by the ZF.
@acityinohio @sonya I’d like to give my +1 invite to @JamesTodaroMD if possible
