The toy you mean? It’s already sent.
They finally arrived around April of last year;
Fantastic first use case! Imagine Zcash restores them to their original owners when they provide some proof that they controlled the address before the attack.
How tricky do you think it would be to get OpenSea or Rareable to list/sell ZSAs?
My most valuable Punks got stolen…
It’s already been 40 days since ECC said it would tell us what measures to take against Cypherpunk Zero.
I want to know why it isn’t even mentioned.
There are many people who have spent a lot of money on these NFT, and there are also many who have invested a lot of time and passion.
They announced publicly in several places that the CZ smart contract had been compromised a few months ago. OpenSea was also notified.
Unfortunately I also lost some CZs to the hacker
Some of us bught a lot of CZ NFTs after the hack without knowing it got hacked ($10–30k+) and hold them now. Would be a pity of losing them…
ECC said that they have a snapshot of wallets holding CZ NFT as of December 5th and are working with the ZECHUB and DZDTF teams to determine the next steps.
Is there a reason why there hasn’t been any comment from ECC yet?
Or does ECC have any ideas?
I understand this may not be satisfying, but I’m committed to openness and honesty.
Since coming into this role, my focus is on ZEC adoption and its flourishing. This has not been my focus.
I personally hold the keys of the treasury NFTs and blocked transfers but don’t have access to the smart contract. I also personally own a number of them, that I purchased on the open market.
We asked Zechub to help with a plan. I don’t believe we have one yet. I’m not promising anything, but have optimism that a resolution is possible.
What does Treasury NFTs key mean?
If even this CZ NFT, which ECC first told us to trust, is left in this irresponsible manner, the Zcash project will lose even more trust.
We have poured our time and passion into telling ECC to show sincerity toward CZ NFT and trust that there are exclusive benefits for NFT holders.
However, in the end, ECC lost the smart contract key and irresponsibly said that CZ NFT is not what ECC (Josh) focuses on.
I sincerely hope that the ECC, which has the most voices in the Zcash project, will move forward based on trust.
If CZ NFT is left as is, many Zcash supporters will despair and leave.
I really hope for you, if you really want Zcash to be adopted, please prioritize trust over technology.
NFTs that ECC holds and never issued
Heard.
I’m not happy about all this. The NFT vuln was not our fault. That we can’t fix the contract is our fault.
Our creation of these NFTs were for fun and education, not profit.
I’m talking about trust.
This is because it seemed like CZ NFT was abandoned by ECC.
Everyone knows how hard you always work and devote yourself to ZEC.
But without trust, no matter how good the technology is, it will eventually collapse.
Sorry to say, but the wealth destroyed in the NFTs is a drop in the ocean to the wealth destroyed in ZEC. And most of leadership are stumped about how to try and drive value back into ZEC right now, let alone the NFT project. I understand your frustrations, I own a handful of the NFTs also.
As we’ve seen from Zeboot and @joshs direct comments. Time is about Prioritization right now!
(The tiny NFT project is one of the lowest priorities in all of the Zcash ecosystem)
i believe if done right in future with the NFT project by creating more of the creative universe and continuous privacy story and educational videos even maybe in that style could be beneficial to Zcash itself. but it would need people/team for it.
Hey everyone,
I would like to present a draft plan to launch a new collection of Cypherpunk Zero NFTs on Cosmos Stargaze.
Reasoning
- There are many fans of the artistic universe, even outside of Zcash. this would keep the spirit of Zero alive.
- Post genesis, each NFT could be shielded on Namada: Release v0.50.0 · cosmos/ibc-rs · GitHub
- Becoming the first entirely shielded NFT collection would be very positive for Zcash & Namada with marketing opportunities for both.
- Build Cosmos ecosystem awareness of Zcash
Method
- A snapshot of all NFT holders pre-hack was taken.
- We ask users to sign + verify their Ethereum address. This form can be an embed on the existing Cypherpunk Zero site.
- They are then able to enter a Stargaze address.
- We collect all addresses & filter it against the snapshot.
Launch
- Whitelist approved stargaze addresses are able to mint new NFT’s for a limited time. (If you held v1 rare’s, you might not mint a new rare)
- Collection Mint opens for all Stargaze users.
Open Questions
- Acquiring original artwork/permissions from Stranger Wolf & ECC.
- Naming of new NFT Collection.
- Reducing Max no. of NFTs.
- Potential for different traits / combinations or new artwork (Comic / Zero AI etc.) to be added with reissue.
- Cypherpunk Zero DAO moving to Cosmos.
The hope is for this to be led by anons & community members. Anyone interested help wherever possible. Members of Cypherpunk Zero DAO please comment your thoughts. There are many specifics, that’ve been omitted in the interest of brevity but we can build further in the CPZ discord server.
Important Note: The purpose of this is not to recoup anyone’s lost value from the original collection,
1. NFTs Sold After Snapshot or Hacking
- NFTs Sold After Snapshot or Hacking Should Not Be Recovered
- The seller has already taken advantage of the sale
- It must be paid excluding the number of sales
2. NFTs Bought After Snapshot or Hacking
- NFTs purchased after snapshots or hacks should be preserved
- If the proposal passes, the date should be announced to prevent further purchase
3. Hacked NFTs
- Hacked NFTs will be restored to snapshot base date (recovery complete)
- The person who purchased the hacked NFT must pay a separate NFT
4. Character Type Grade preservation
- The value of zatoshi, zero, etc. should be preserved
- It’s nft, which was more expensive than the regular rating
- If the rating isn’t preserved, it’s about creating another victim to solve the hacking problem
5. cz-nft is not scam
- A total of 339 ETH trading volumes occurred on OpenSea after Mint
- We should proceed in a way that values are preserved as much as possible
Huh? So if someone got hacked, and the hacker sold the NFT the original owner should not be able to recover it?
