I’m standing for election to the Zcash Community Grants committee.
My name is Daniel Goh (gorusys). I’m a systems engineer with nine years of experience building distributed infrastructure in Rust and Go, and for the past few years that work has been increasingly Zcash-focused. I have been building Zecvault — privacy-first Zcash savings wallet. I built zcashgranthub — grant governance tooling for the Zcash ecosystem covering proposal submission, grant tracking, and round management. I’ve shipped address tooling in TypeScript and Zig, a proof oracle, and various other utilities. I mention these not to pad a list, but because they reflect the kind of contributor I am: I work on things the ecosystem needs, not things that get me noticed.
That same orientation is why I want to sit on ZCG. Having built grant infrastructure myself, I understand the grant process from both sides of the table — what makes a proposal credible, where teams tend to underestimate scope, and what follow-through actually looks like when the ZEC has already been disbursed. A committee seat lets me apply that perspective to the portfolio level, not just to individual tools I happen to be building.
My priorities if elected: technical rigor in evaluation, faster feedback loops for applicants, and bias toward builders over researchers. I want ZCG to fund things that ship, hold grantees accountable to milestones, and be honest with applicants early when a proposal isn’t ready rather than letting it linger. I’m not interested in performing governance. I’m interested in making good funding decisions consistently.
