Hello Zcash community,
My name is Chibuike , and I am formally announcing my candidacy for the Zcash Community Grants (ZCG) Committee. I am a software programmer and data scientist with a strong interest in privacy technology and the long-term growth of the Zcash ecosystem.
Key Qualities I Bring:
Clear problem-solving mindset
Strong communication skills
Dedication to adoption, privacy, and decentralized technology
Readiness to commit time and energy to this role
Zcash is entering an era of rapid protocol development, greater coordination between teams, and increasing global relevance. During this pivotal moment, ZCG plays a critical role in ensuring that the Development Fund is used wisely, transparently, and in ways that create real impact. I am running to help strengthen that mission alongside other committee members.
Why I Am Running
I believe ZCG needs committee members who bring:
Technical understanding to evaluate complex proposals
Clear reasoning and fairness in decision-making
Global awareness of how ZEC can be adopted in diverse environments
A fresh, energetic perspective to help shape the next chapter of Zcash
My background as a programmer gives me the ability to assess the feasibility, architecture, and risks of technical proposals. My experience in community-driven environments allows me to understand the needs of builders, educators, developers, and users, which is essential for supporting a thriving ecosystem.
What I Will Prioritize
I am committed to strengthening ZCG’s technical review and due diligence by carefully evaluating proposals to ensure they are feasible, secure, aligned with privacy principles, have realistic timelines, clear dependencies, and justified budgets. This ensures grants lead to meaningful results rather than stalled projects.
To make funding more effective and accountable, I will work to implement a hybrid funding model that combines retroactive grants for completed impactful work, milestone-based funding to protect the treasury and encourage accountability, and quarterly funding cycles for predictability and strategic planning.
I also believe ZCG should take a proactive role in shaping ecosystem priorities by maintaining a continuously updated grant “wishlist” aligned with ECC’s roadmap, ZF priorities, Shielded Labs research, community needs, and long-term ecosystem gaps. This approach ensures that treasury funds go where they matter most.
Strong coordination and transparency are essential. I will advocate for frequent ecosystem sync calls, clear communication around decisions, better tracking of grantee progress, and public reporting of measurable results to build trust across the community.
Finally, I am passionate about supporting global adoption and empowering builders by improving wallet usability, expanding payment tools, advancing community education, onboarding developers, and creating regional hubs in emerging markets. This ensures that Zcash reaches everyone who can benefit from privacy-preserving money.
Thank you for reading my statement, and I hope you consider my candidacy. I look forward to answering your questions, engaging with the community, and working together to support builders, researchers, and innovators pushing Zcash forward.
Chibuike.
