Chibuike for ZCG (December 2025)

Hello Zcash community,

My name is Chibuike , and I am formally announcing my candidacy for the Zcash Community Grants (ZCG) Committee. I am a software programmer and data scientist with a strong interest in privacy technology and the long-term growth of the Zcash ecosystem.

Key Qualities I Bring:

Clear problem-solving mindset

Strong communication skills

Dedication to adoption, privacy, and decentralized technology

Readiness to commit time and energy to this role

Zcash is entering an era of rapid protocol development, greater coordination between teams, and increasing global relevance. During this pivotal moment, ZCG plays a critical role in ensuring that the Development Fund is used wisely, transparently, and in ways that create real impact. I am running to help strengthen that mission alongside other committee members.

Why I Am Running

I believe ZCG needs committee members who bring:

Technical understanding to evaluate complex proposals

Clear reasoning and fairness in decision-making

Global awareness of how ZEC can be adopted in diverse environments

A fresh, energetic perspective to help shape the next chapter of Zcash

My background as a programmer gives me the ability to assess the feasibility, architecture, and risks of technical proposals. My experience in community-driven environments allows me to understand the needs of builders, educators, developers, and users, which is essential for supporting a thriving ecosystem.

What I Will Prioritize

I am committed to strengthening ZCG’s technical review and due diligence by carefully evaluating proposals to ensure they are feasible, secure, aligned with privacy principles, have realistic timelines, clear dependencies, and justified budgets. This ensures grants lead to meaningful results rather than stalled projects.

To make funding more effective and accountable, I will work to implement a hybrid funding model that combines retroactive grants for completed impactful work, milestone-based funding to protect the treasury and encourage accountability, and quarterly funding cycles for predictability and strategic planning.

I also believe ZCG should take a proactive role in shaping ecosystem priorities by maintaining a continuously updated grant “wishlist” aligned with ECC’s roadmap, ZF priorities, Shielded Labs research, community needs, and long-term ecosystem gaps. This approach ensures that treasury funds go where they matter most.

Strong coordination and transparency are essential. I will advocate for frequent ecosystem sync calls, clear communication around decisions, better tracking of grantee progress, and public reporting of measurable results to build trust across the community.

Finally, I am passionate about supporting global adoption and empowering builders by improving wallet usability, expanding payment tools, advancing community education, onboarding developers, and creating regional hubs in emerging markets. This ensures that Zcash reaches everyone who can benefit from privacy-preserving money.

Thank you for reading my statement, and I hope you consider my candidacy. I look forward to answering your questions, engaging with the community, and working together to support builders, researchers, and innovators pushing Zcash forward.

Chibuike.

Hi @chibuike,

One of the fears in the cryptocurrency market is the level of capital speculation. The Zcash Blockchain offers investors unique opportunities in the future value creation because of the utility of this technology. The utility of the Zcash Blockchain is on the verge of transformational value for digital economies around the world with the launch of Zcash Shielded Assets.

Zcash Shielded Assets will differentiate the technology by allowing a new secure method of digital communication for the internet.

How will you as a potential member grow and expand the utility of Zcash Shielded Assets on an encrypted Blockchain for economic growth?

Thank you

You make a great point. One of the biggest challenges in the crypto space today is that speculation overshadows real utility. The utility of the Zcash blockchain—especially through Zcash Shielded Assets - shows the kind of opportunities this technology can bring to today’s digital economy and the future. ZSAs have already demonstrated strong long-term value, and most importantly, they offer privacy for users, organizations, and businesses. This is something many people are actively seeking right now.

As a member of the committee, here is how I would work to grow and expand the utility of Zcash Shielded Assets on an encrypted blockchain for economic growth:

First of all, teamwork. I will work closely with the committee in decision-making, analysis, and approving grants for projects that support the vision behind Shielded Assets. This includes supporting builders whose work strengthens Zcash’s infrastructure. The growth of Zcash’s structure, goals, and long-term vision matters most, and this comes through funding projects that can be adopted publicly and bring real economic value to the ecosystem.

The true value of Shielded Assets will come from the applications built on top of them. I would help onboard developers, amplify innovative projects, and encourage experimentation around payments, identity, DeFi, and other privacy-focused digital-economy tools. These are the types of applications that turn ZSAs into something people can use daily.

I would also support stronger alignment across the ecosystem—between ZF, ECC, Shielded Labs, wallet teams, and independent developers—so that ZSA-related projects fill real ecosystem gaps, builders know what the ecosystem needs, funding stays targeted and efficient, and work is not duplicated or siloed.

Congratulations on your nomination.

I would like to know what you think about ZecHub and its role within Zcash, and what your proposal would be from the ZCG to make it better known, since it is the gateway for anyone to Zcash.

ZecHub is the education hub for the Zcash ecosystem. It provides content, news, and resources to give users and developers the support and information they need. Because of this, I think ZecHub plays a really important role in the ecosystem, it’s one of the main entry points for anyone who wants to learn about Zcash, understand the technology, and get involved. Education is the foundation of a strong community, and ZecHub has been helping by simplifying concepts, creating guides, and making newcomers feel welcome.

The types of proposals I think will help make Zcash better known are ones that:

  1. Help ZecHub build its brand through global educational content.

  2. Support local meetups in non-English-speaking regions, possibly through expanding the ambassador program.

  3. Boost public awareness through marketing, community events, workshops, social media, and partnerships.

ZecHub’s content should reach more people across different regions and languages. I would support grants or initiatives that expand educational content, translations, and distribution on platforms where people are already active.

I also think ZecHub should collaborate more closely with ECC, ZF, Shielded Labs, wallet teams, and other projects to create tutorials, guides, developer resources, and videos that help the whole ecosystem grow. I would propose encouraging grant recipients especially wallets and dApps to include ZecHub resources prominently so that every project contributes to education and adoption. By doing these things, ZecHub can become an even stronger, more visible gateway into Zcash for users, developers, and researchers alike.

Great! Thanks and good luck!

Thank you! I appreciate it. If you have more questions, I’m happy to answer.

Thank you again for the thoughtful questions so far. I really appreciate the engagement from the community.

As I continue in this process, my goal is simple: to support builders, strengthen Zcash’s foundations, and help ensure that ZCG funding creates real, long-term value for the ecosystem. I believe Zcash is entering an important chapter with ZSAs, wallet improvements, and stronger collaboration across teams, and I want to contribute meaningfully to that progress.

If anyone has more questions - technical, strategic, or personal—I’m here and happy to answer. Your feedback are so much appreciated. Thanks again.

I agree , the utility of Zcash Shielded Assets , particularly on the focus of “ Long-term value and privacy” is a huge advantage for Zcash.

Then , you talk about teamwork and funding infrastructure , I think this alone makes a perfect sense , they are key for long-term growth .

Can you share more on how you intend to measure the success and impact of the funded projects?

Thank you, I appreciate that. For me, measuring the success of funded projects comes down to a few practical things. First, every project should have clear goals from the start what they want to build, what problems they’re solving, and what the community should expect to see. That makes it easier to follow their progress.

I also think regular checkins matter. Not everything needs to be complicated, but updates that show what has been done and what is left help us know the project is moving forward.

Another important part is real impact. After a project is completed, we should ask simple questions:
Did people use it? Did it improve the ecosystem? Did it help developers or users in any way?
If the answer is yes, then that’s a successful grant. I believe ZCG should make this information easy for the community to understand clear summaries, simple progress tracking, and honest communication when something isn’t working. My goal is to make sure that every approved project brings real value, not just activity on paper.
