With the ZOMG elections just round the corner, and candidates already volunteering to serve on the next iteration of the Committee, we don’t feel that it is necessary or appropriate to put everything on hold, and effectively suspend the major grants program. That would kill the momentum that we have begun building up, and cast doubt upon the reliability of ZOMG as a source of funding, discouraging potential grant applicants.

We need to still continue as planned even if the zip is eventually amended. The issues raised themselves aren’t sufficient to warrant a full-stop of the communities consensus until it’s been determimed it constitutes a new community consensus.

I don’t know, but I feel like we’re making a mistake to keep the schedule intact given all the alarm bells raised

Yes.

We shouldn’t let “stop energy” (to borrow a phrase from Zooko) derail an important part of the Zcash ecosystem. We’re resolving the issues that have been raised, and ZOMG will continue while the community discusses whether they want to replace it with something else.
