Gleyo Month 1 Report: Building a Stable Foundation (A180)

Month 1 Report

Period: October 2026
Team: Favour (operations), Abraham (partnerships), Gilmore (product and engineering)

Summary

We used Month 1 on purpose to make Gleyo stable instead of onboarding new communities. The goal was an infrastructure that can handle many users and many communities at the same time, with fewer bugs. Waiting also helped us avoid what happened during the Proof of Privacy campaign, where bugs showed up and there was no time to fix them.

Even Zcash Nigeria wanted to use Gleyo for the Zcash 10th birthday at the end of October. We talked it through and agreed to keep working on the infrastructure first. While we focused on the product, we kept conversations going with the regional communities, and the interest is strong.

Product and Infrastructure

Communities

  • Zec Developers (run by Dre): continued using Gleyo throughout the month and did not need any help from us.
  • Africa: we talked to all the regional communities, and all of them are interested. The Zcash East Africa lead was onboarded, and Zcash Nigeria is onboarded as well.
  • Outside Africa: good conversations with Zcash Brazil, Zcash Español and Zcash Türkiye. Abraham kept in touch with Zcash Türkiye and Zcash Español throughout the month.
  • Ecosystem projects: talked with ZecForge and Zcash Names.

Team Work

  • Favour (operations): kept posting on social media. In Month 2 we will post much more as more communities start using Gleyo for programs and campaigns.
  • Abraham (partnerships): kept the conversations going with Zcash Türkiye and Zcash Español.
  • Gilmore (product): bug fixes, stability work, billing page, documentation.

Challenges

Holding back onboarding in October meant some communities had to wait, including Zcash Nigeria’s birthday event. We think the trade-off was worth it, because Gleyo is now more stable and ready for real usage.

Month 2 Goals

  1. Turn interest into real usage. Move the interested communities from conversations to live programs and campaigns with active members.
  2. Measure revenue and profit. Track what communities pay against what it costs to run Gleyo, so we know the model works.
  3. Build the ZEC off-ramp to local currency. Let community members cash out ZEC rewards into their local currency.
  4. Attend Confluence in the second week of November. Meet potential projects outside Zcash that could use Gleyo, so it grows beyond the Zcash ecosystem.
