Hello,

Following the feedback from ZCG on 7/20/2026:

Despite the fact that the committee has largely overlooked the positive results we have achieved online, when looking at other community initiatives funded by ZCG, you will find that roughly 80% of their work is conducted online, while only around 20% consists of IRL events. This alone demonstrates that online community building is meaningful work and is already recognized and funded by ZCG.

Nevertheless, we successfully organized our first pilot community meetup in Algeria, entirely self-funded. We then applied for a grant, but were surprised when ZCG rejected our proposal for entirely new reasons, as you can see in the Meeting Minutes 8/17/2026:

So, as everyone can see, ZCG has acknowledged our efforts and recognized that we have done everything required. At the same time, they rejected the proposal and asked us to obtain community support. Here is the community support that ZCG requested:

  • ZecHub — They regularly support us on X, and in the Telegram group shared with ZCG, they have acknowledged our efforts and confirmed that we completed the work we were asked to do.

  • Zooko — He regularly supports us on X through likes and retweets - you can check.

  • Josh — He published a list of active Zcash communities, and ZcashArabia was included:

We are not claiming that these people or organizations are saying, “Fund ZcashArabia.” That is not their role, and no other local community grant proposal, as far as we have found, was ever required to first obtain support from other communities.
Rather, these are clear indications that our work is reaching other people within the Zcash ecosystem and that our efforts are being recognized and appreciated by others.

If anyone is interested, here is some of the work we have done from mid-February 2026 to July 2026. (Please refer to our monthly reports below for full details.) We only received funding from February to May.

These are not just social media metrics; they represent real onboarding, education, ecosystem collaboration, and active participation in the Zcash ecosystem.

  • ~225 ZODL wallet downloads through our campaigns and community initiatives during May and June.
  • Educated more than 230 Arabic-speaking users about Zcash, privacy, and self-custody through our Academy, educational content, webinars, and community activities.
  • Hosted 10+ online community events, webinars, contests, and campaigns, with ~500 total participants.
  • Produced and localized more than 60 educational resources, including articles, guides, lessons, and translations, in addition to videos, infographics, and threads.
  • Grew our community from:
    • 200 → 425 Telegram members (+112.5%)
    • 400 → 920 X followers (+130%)
    • 100 → 230 Academy participants (+130%)
  • Onboarded 90+ users to ZcashNames.
  • Launched new Academy tracks, including Rust Development and Security & Privacy, with gamification.
  • Collaborated with multiple Zcash ecosystem projects, including ZecHub, ZcashNames, CipherPay, Red·Bridge, and Noir Wallet, with plans for more collaborations.
  • Launched community activities such as the Eidiya Merch Campaign, World Cup Prediction web app, and Draw Your Country Flag with the Zcash Logo Contest.
  • Held 1 IRL event.

In front of the entire community - we have done everything that was asked of us. Now we are waiting for the committee’s decision, so that the entire community can see it.

I think you guys can improve your communication on the work that is done but I support the grant. Make it a priority to communicate in as many channels as possible, so it can get more visibility. Thanks for supporting Zcash. :heart_suit: :zebra: :shield:

August 2026

Key Activities & Milestones:

  • On August 1, we organized our first Pilot Event (IRL) for our community in Algeria. The event brought together people interested in privacy and blockchain technology for networking, discussions, and exchanging ideas about the future of the space.

  • On July 31, hosted an AMA session with Noir Wallet, where our community members actively participated by asking questions about the project. The event received great engagement and positive feedback.

  • Localization and Community Management: We translated and published the latest Zcash news and ecosystem updates to make the project more accessible to Arabic-speaking audiences. In addition, we actively managed our growing community on Telegram and X by answering questions, sharing valuable resources, and fostering discussions to keep members informed and engaged.

  • The Academy is Growing: Our educational reach continues to expand. We’ve officially surpassed the 245-student mark, signaling a growing appetite for deep dives into our ecosystem.

  • Educational Content: We translated and shared news and educational materials from ZecHub.

  • Focus on organizing multiple IRL events across different countries to strengthen our local community.
  • Organize a Mini Hackathon for Arab developers to encourage them to build on Zcash.
    Run User Acquisition Campaigns: Launch campaigns and quests designed to attract new users, introduce them to Zcash, and encourage wallet adoption through Zodl, Vizor, Noir, and other ecosystem wallets as we did in May and June.
  • Explore collaboration and partnership opportunities with ZecHub and other projects across the Zcash ecosystem.
    Build an Onboarding Funnel: Turn event and campaign participants into active community members through wallet setup, shielded transactions, educational content, and community activities.

Key Activities & Milestones:

-First Community Meetup in Syria: We organized our first in-person community meetup in Syria, bringing together people interested in Zcash, privacy, and blockchain technology for discussions, networking, and knowledge sharing.
-“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Inspired Live Quiz: We launched a community quiz inspired by the popular TV show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? And hosted the first live episode on the Zcash Global Discord, following a recommendation from members of the ZecHub team. The contestant successfully answered all 16 questions correctly.
-ZcashArabia on Free2z: We created the official ZcashArabia page on Free2z and began publishing selected articles there. We also started exploring potential collaboration opportunities between ZcashArabia and the Free2z team to support Arabic-language Zcash content and community growth.
-Educational & Media Content: We continued producing and publishing Arabic educational content, including articles, videos, and infographics covering Zcash, privacy, blockchain technology, and the broader ecosystem.
-Community Management & Localization: We continued translating and sharing Zcash news and ecosystem updates for Arabic-speaking audiences, while actively managing our Telegram and X communities, answering questions, sharing resources, and encouraging discussions.
Educational Content: We translated and shared news and educational materials from ZecHub.

Key Activities & Milestones

  • Zcash 10th Anniversary Community Meetup in Algeria: To mark Zcash’s 10th anniversary, members of our community gathered in Algeria for an in-person meetup. Participants connected, shared their interest in Zcash and financial privacy. The event was a great success, strengthening community connections and celebrating a decade of Zcash.

  • Educational & Media Content: We continued producing and publishing Arabic educational content, including articles, and infographics covering Zcash, privacy, blockchain technology, and the broader ecosystem and We translated and shared some educational materials and news from ZecHub.

  • Educational Video Production: We produced educational videos covering key topics and developments across the Zcash ecosystem, including Zcash Labs, Zakura, and the NU7 upgrade, helping Arabic-speaking community members better understand the technology, projects, and latest developments.

  • “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Following the success of our live quiz inspired by the popular TV show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, we made the game available in the Games section of the Zcash Arabia Academy. This allows community members to practice, test their knowledge, and learn more about Zcash through an interactive experience.

  • Community Management & Localization: We continued translating and sharing Zcash news and ecosystem updates for Arabic-speaking audiences, while actively managing our Telegram and X communities, answering questions, sharing resources, and encouraging discussions.
