Hi everyone
I shared some of my thoughts about Zcash on X today and wanted to bring the discussion here as well
X post: https://x.com/crypto_epoch/status/2096675734685450342
One thing I keep thinking about is this
ZEC has gone from zero to roughly a $17B market cap and I do not think that happened for no reason
For me the interesting part is not simply whether $17B is high or low today
The bigger question is what financial privacy could be worth in a world where money is becoming increasingly digital
Zcash is trying to combine the idea of scarce digital money with financial privacy
And I think that matters
As more payments move on-chain or into fully digital systems we are also moving toward a world where salaries savings wallet balances payment histories and financial relationships can become much easier to track
Personally I do not think that should automatically be accepted as normal
That is why I think Zcash still has a very strong long term case
At the same time I also do not think it is fair to say that a strong privacy thesis automatically means ZEC is undervalued
Price market cap adoption regulation wallet UX and actual usage all matter
So the question I would like to ask the community is:
If financial privacy becomes significantly more important over the next 5 to 10 years how do you think Zcash should actually be valued?
And on the other side
What do you think is the biggest thing that could prevent Zcash from reaching that potential?
I am especially interested in hearing both bullish and critical views
