Important: Potential Binance Delisting

Correct!

We are experiencing a massive blocking of websites, although they have not yet shut down the Internet completely.

And we are orienting many people, because they don’t know how to use a VPN either.

Is Starlink available to some in the country?

Nope!

But some people are selling the antennas here in the country, and they connect, I don’t know with what trick, to signals from Colombia.

I have no idea how they do it.

The more the government cracks down, the more cryptocurrencies gain strength. I hope the government’s situation improves.

@gordonesTV I’m sorry for what’s happening with the government in Venezuela.

We’ve been putting up with this for 25 years now, and it definitely has to change. There are people who were born in the country who know nothing else, and it’s sad.

We have to continue promoting education and technological literacy, decentralization and privacy.

Such a shame that we spent resources on a solution that didn’t change a thing. They have an agenda and anything we do most likely wont matter either way.

Prove me wrong Binance.

If it wasn’t for the efforts of the people who work on this, zcash would have been delisted.

The monitoring tag and the delisting are two different issues. IMO, the tag was added because ZEC’s volatility went up drastically.

That’s fair and a good point. :+1:

Update: The TEX Address updates have been successfully integrated into the mobile wallet SDK, and Zashi now supports TEX Addresses.

@pacu and I will coordinate with other wallet developers using the SDK and underlying libraries, including Zingo, Edge, and Unstoppable, to implement support. We will provide updates as these integrations are completed.

A huge thank you to the ECC core engineering team – @daira, @nuttycom, and @str4d. They encountered some unexpected issues that required them to implement fully-transparent wallet history support, which extended the project timeline. However, they continued to prioritize this work despite having other important and time-sensitive projects to manage.

I sincerely appreciate their hard work and dedication. Thank you!

I heard some rumors that Binance will still directly delist ZEC in the near future. Is this true?

ZEC has successfully passed the Binance compliance review, so far there has not been any official announcement to the contrary, though we still need to be careful with keeping assets there.

I’m about to submit a proposal that is somewhat related to this topic. Having faced persistent issues with on/off-ramp solutions due to my location, finding a resolution is always top of mind for me. I’d appreciate feedbacks: here

Any update ?

Here are a few updates:

  • There has been continued progress with wallets and exchanges integrating TEX support. For example, last month eZcash implemented TEX support, and Zingo plans to add it later this month. Additionally, Coinbase has committed to implementing TEX Address support in early October.

  • Similar to last quarter, I reached out to Binance a few weeks ago to request the removal of Zcash from the monitoring list at the end of the third quarter. I reiterated that, given Binance’s policy of blocking shielded deposits and the progress we’ve made with TEX Address implementation, the monitoring tag should be removed.

  • We expect to learn of their decision when they release the updated monitoring list, which should be published any day now.

Where did you hear this? @aquietinvestor has been working with Binance to resolve this issue with TEX addresses and they accepted it. It wouldn’t make sense for them to then delist after they already went through the work of reviewing and accepting the new address type.

The “monitoring” tag is not an indication of an imminent delisting, but we don’t know exactly what else they want to remove it.

Hopefully they will simply remove it because it confuses users.

Further to my update above, Binance recently reaffirmed that there is no imminent risk of delisting Zcash. However, future developments are uncertain, and new factors could potentially affect their decision. At this time, there is no indication that a change is expected.

Unfortunately, Binance has once again rejected my request to remove the monitoring tag from Zcash. It also appears that Binance did not remove the monitoring tag from Firo, despite their progress in implementing an Exchange Address type. As I mentioned in July, the only “privacy” coin that has been removed from the monitoring list is ZEN, which has eliminated all of its privacy features. We obviously have no intention of taking that route. I have asked Binance to provide information on when the tag might be removed or what requirements need to be met for its removal, but they have not provided clear information. Based on this decision, it seems likely that Zcash will remain on the monitoring list as long as it retains its privacy features.

As @Shawn mentioned, the monitoring list is not an indication of imminent delisting. Binance recently reaffirmed that there is no risk of Zcash being delisted in the near future.

sooner or later, Zcash will be removed from all CEX’es.

we really need to think about how much time, money and effort we are going to put into things like this in the future.

It is my hope that we can organize an engineering retrospective on this matter and I’ll definitely will bring this point up. Thank you for your reflections.
