Important: Potential Binance Delisting

i think the funds get locked like many users have complained in telegram and other channels, tho i dont know if they use binance.us or other

(and then they have to contact binance support and it might take weeks-month until they get their funds back :grimacing: )

Something is wrong with binance.
they intentionally withhold the other’s ZECs.

Binance does not want to accept funds from shielded addresses as part of their compliance measures. This is why we are working on implementing TEX Addresses. Please see the OP and the below thread for additional information:

And at the same time, Binance has the largest volumes of ZEC, whose funds are these?

For now Zingo Wallet does not support ZIP320, in its last update only ZIP3127 support was added. Soon… @zancas @Juanky

Glad to hear it! When I messaged them yesterday, they mentioned they were working on processing the return and that it shouldn’t take 30 days. It seems they were able to expedite the refund.

Update: Gemini exchange has successfully implemented TEX support. Thanks to @joshs for coordinating with their engineering team and @artkor for helping with testing.

Great to hear! Have they given any indication that they will drop the “monitoring” tag on Zcash now that TEX support has been implemented?

I don’t have any additional information regarding the removal of the monitoring tag at this time. As I mentioned earlier this month, Binance rejected my request to remove the tag, and we observed similar outcomes with other privacy coins, such as Firo, that have implemented exchange address types. Decisions about monitoring tags are made on a quarterly basis, with the updated list expected to be published in early October. I will continue to follow up with Binance about removing the monitoring tag and will keep the community informed if we receive any new information.

looks like they will never remove the tag from privacy coins

and the discrimination against privacy coin will continue

Doesnt Gemini support shielded deposits or not any longer?

Gemini still supports shielded deposits and withdrawals, I just used them the other day. Very fast too.

So why did they add TEX addresses? Did they get rid of T addresses and only use TEX now?

No, Binance is currently the only exchange that generates TEX addresses. Gemini has implemented the necessary parsing logic to support withdrawals to Binance and prevent transaction failures.

Venezuelans have been cut off from Binance entirely?

Binance and X have been blocked by the government there. Unclear if using a VPN can help.
Centralized companies = single point of failure.

The blocking has been, so far, only through the government internet operator.
