Yes, I am concerned about genuine independence, pretty well summed here I think:
There are a number of hazards, but that’s what I was underlining. I’ll have a follow up on that soon.
No one else seems to be (much and/or publicly) concerned about this. This itself is notable, to me.
Most of the post consisted of cited fact. I haven’t had one person dispute a single fact in the post.
Some more questions that came up led me to investigate and write more.

I do think it’s an important issue to address for the overall Zcash ecosystem. In the last few years the landscape of funding (and thus, in my view, incentives) has shifted notably. This effects everyone. Soon, I’ll publicly invite more people, and the people I already tagged, to comment about this new direction.
