Are there any, as of yet, trustworthy tools online for doing the same thing for ZEC?
I’d like to create a wallet and store it locally. I don’t want to trust some service to host a wallet for me.

My Ether Wallet is legit. Ledger even supports it.
Read the text in red above the page at that link though. There are some imposter scam sites which use similar URLs.
As far as I know there is nothing like that for Zcash yet but I think someone will create one at some poiint. It’s early days still.
