- Day 1, I posted a few summaries of panels and discussions including the very first panel on User Defined Assets (UDAs or ZSAs). Steven, ECC’s head of engineering and host of the Arborist calls chimed in with his perspective on ZSAs. Kevin, ECC’s Android developer gave a presentation on growing the Zcash developer community. Sean, Daira and Deidre presented an overview of Orchard and Halo 2, the new shielded protocol that will be implemented as part of NU5. Finally, Steven and Deidre gave an update on the Network Upgrade Pipeline (NUP).
- The Day 2 talks involved presenters from beyond the Zcash community including friends from Mina, Skynet, Ethereum, Cosmos, Tor and more. ECC board member Alan Fairless hosted a discussion about network privacy. DC from ECC hosted a high level discussion about the importance of privacy.
- Zeal calls are taking a break for June and July as we reimagine the format, content and objective of these community gatherings. Stay tuned for more details.
- Zcash Foundation is expanding the Community Advisory Panel and looking for nominations for new board members. Do not hesitate to nominate yourself or candidates who might be interested in contributing to Zcash. All backgrounds, disciplines and experiences are welcome! Deadline is Sunday June 13, 2021.
Community Shoutouts - Shout out to all speakers and presenters at ZCon2. Kudos to the Zcash Foundation team for organizing such a successful event. Shout out to Piyush from Nighthawk Apps who contributed this PR to fix an accessibility issue on the app!
