Product Updates

General Discussion

We discussed that the criteria for marking a goal as complete should include that it’s in a product that has been released to users. The Reference Wallet project doesn’t have explicit releases yet, so we inserted that as a new priority, above the other wallet work. The idea is to put something minimal but unambiguous in place to help our team and downstream vendors get on the same page about when features or bugfixes are available.

Meanwhile, the tracking for our product validation isn’t in sync with the (more authoritative) Unified Product Priorities List, so we have a follow up task to bring those in-line. We also provided a consistent form for ECC employees to submit new product ideas to the team for initial assessments.

Updates to Product Priorities

During our regular Status Sync meeting, we marked two priorities as completed:

  • Interim fix for lightwalletd reorg bug
  • Replace 0mq with rpc calls in lightwalletd

One priority is complete but has not yet been released:

  • Retarget Debian Stable

No goals were reprioritized or tabled.

Current Priorities

This leaves the top 10 product priorities as:

  1. Retarget Debian Stable (ready for release)
  2. Define Release Versioning for Ref Wallet
  3. Librustzcash on iOS
  4. T↔ Z addr interoperability on light clients
  5. Reference Wallet Partner specific integration work (C++ wrapper and decreasing size of library)
  6. Test and verify reference wallet on mainnet
  7. Shorter Blocktimes
  8. NU3 ZIP Feature Selection
  9. Limit the Mempool Size
  10. Improve CI system
