I’ve submitted DAO Proposal A155 to the ZecHub DAO to fund five dedicated NU7 wiki pages on zechub.wiki, delivered in two weeks.
Why now
NU7 rc0 testnet launched May 22. Mainnet is expected Q4 2026. Right now the community is working through the upgrade via two competing forum threads — Why I Support ZSAs and Why I’m Against ZSAs — 218 combined replies, not because the debate is unusually heated but because there is no single neutral reference page to anchor it to facts. At the same time, exchanges and node operators running zcashd still have no consolidated migration guide explaining what they need to do before they lose consensus access at mainnet activation.
These five pages address that directly.
The five pages
- NU7 Overview — what’s in rc0 vs. deferred (ZSA / TxV6), the Zodl coinholder vote, per-role checklist, Sprout fund warning
- ZSAs Explained — ZIP-226/227 technical overview, both sides of the community debate presented fairly, use cases, transparent issuance map, why fees are always ZEC, regulatory context (ZFND/Steptoe white paper)
- Block Time & Project Tachyon — ZIP-218 actual numbers (6.1 TPS, not “3× everything”), action caps, what exchanges need to update in confirmation logic, future Tachyon phases
- zcashd → Z3 Migration Guide — Zebra, Zaino, Zallet, Z3G for exchanges, RPC compatibility changes, Sprout UTXO migration steps, recent Zebra CVEs
- NU7 Developer Guide — testnet access, v6 tx format (ZIP-230), lead-byte 0x03 notes (ZIP-2005), Memo Bundles (ZIP-231), ZSA minting/burn API, zcash_tx_tool, librustzcash upstream merge status
Each page ships as a GitHub PR to ZecHub/zechub-wiki.
