Zcash Brasil ran a community sentiment poll on the five open NU7 questions, mirroring the ZCAP/coinholder poll. 18 members voted; a verifiable tally is on Helios.

A total of 135 Zcash Community Advisory Panel (ZCAP) members cast ballots out of 198 eligible participants, representing a 68% response rate. Each question was answered separately, and voters were permitted to abstain from individual questions while still submitting a valid ballot. The polling results page is available here.

The results are in! The participation was well over the 1,000,000 ZEC threshold. Divergence

• Q2 is the break. Panels: ASAP (101/203). Coinholders: February 2031 (96.6%).

So if I am reading this correctly, due to the panels voting ASAP, and the Coinholders voting 2031, the start date of NSM issuance has no start date at all.

Given that there seems to be consensus on starting at some point, there seems to be a design flaw in the system that makes it difficult to interpret this, to the detriment of everyone who wanted something implemented.

Shielded Labs, Project Tachyon, ZODL, Zcash Foundation, and Valar Group have discussed this and are aligned on February 2031, as we think it’s the most conservative interpretation of the results.

Choosing 2031 also doesn’t prevent us from revisiting the question later. If circumstances change and there’s a good reason to begin recirculating the ZEC earlier, we can always run another poll and reconsider the timeline at that point.
