Optimal over/underclock for GTX 1070/1080 Ti

Hey everyone,

What kind of overclock or underclock should I go for ? (In terms of efficiency) Should I bump up the memory as much as possible and underclock the core and lower the tdp?

Thanks !

Every card can be different, but in general, here’s the steps I take.

  1. Start mining program
  2. Overclock CPU +25 MHz until the GPU crashes and you need to back off to last overclock value and restart the miner
  3. Overclock memory +100 MHz until the GPU crashes and you have to restart the miner.
  4. Lower Power Limit until there is a large drop in mining speed vs watts used (you can monitor sol/Watt directly in the miner)

Here are some overclock settings that others have used on the 1070ti and the 1080 ti

Sorry for the late reply… I use ethos distro as my mining os.
in the local.conf i have underclock my 7x1080ti videocards.
I have a 1500 PSU and at this moment i run 97% of the max speed (1400 watt)

my setting from my machine local.conf
The second column is my hostname (074c31)
cor 074c31 2000 2000 2000 2000 2000 2000 2000
mem 074c31 5200 5200 5200 5200 5200 5200 5200
pwr 074c31 205 205 205 205 205 205 205

Im very happy that i can have 7 cards at low voltage. I think it’s also better for the lifetime of the cards

You are correct.
If PSU is at 97% I would consider lowering a bit more the power limit depending on the PSU’s 80 PLUS ranking:

hello John…
Okay… around 90% ?
