Hi,
I am posting this here because I am a new user and I cannot create a new topic yet.
I would like to report a possible wallet synchronization/balance reconstruction issue involving Zodl, Zkool and YWallet.
Environment:
- Android and Ubuntu 24.04
- Same wallet recovery data restored on multiple wallets
- Account Index: 0
- Birth height: approximately 2,500,000
- YWallet: 1.15.3+578 / e4a3ed6f
- Zodl: 3.7.2 (2009)
- Zkool: 6.23.0
Issue summary:
I tested the same wallet recovery on different Zcash wallets.
- Zkool recovered approximately 0.2 ZEC in the Sapling pool.
- I sent 0.01 ZEC to another Zcash wallet using a Unified Address (
u1...). - The transaction was confirmed and the recipient received the 0.01 ZEC correctly.
After this transaction:
- Zodl shows the expected remaining balance: approximately 0.19 ZEC.
- YWallet and Zkool show an incorrect balance: approximately 0.10 ZEC.
Additional observations:
- YWallet previously showed balances that appeared and disappeared after synchronization.
- Zkool showed similar inconsistent behavior.
- Zodl has remained consistent and allowed spending successfully.
Example transaction:
TXID:
b38c6f18a36f1b548c3ee97a49c55ee961fa90887330058958cb33db4275a5e3
Block:
3,413,913
Explorer information:
- Input: Sapling pool — 0.1 ZEC
- Output: Orchard pool — 0.0998 ZEC
- Fee: 0.0002 ZEC
I understand that public explorers cannot reveal all details of shielded transactions. My concern is not about lost funds, but about how different wallets reconstruct the private wallet state after shielded transactions.
The funds are recoverable and spendable with Zodl, but the balance displayed by YWallet and Zkool appears inconsistent.
Could this be related to:
- lightwalletd synchronization?
- shielded note handling?
- Sapling/Orchard change processing?
- wallet migration between Sapling and Orchard?
I can provide additional public information such as TXIDs and block heights, but I will not share any private keys, recovery phrases, or sensitive wallet data.
Thank you for any help
