Privacy as Infrastructure for Self-Governing Communities: Zcash Society (ZS)

@balajis envisioned network societies.
Vitalik called for a cypherpunk revival.
@zooko and other heroes here built the privacy infrastructure.

Today Rafael Castaneda, @Michae2xl and I published a framework connecting all three: anonymous governance, merit-based citizenship, built for Zcash.

Introducing the Zcash Society (ZS) powered by Valocracy.

I hope you all like it, and let’s build!

Please, can you publish this (sort of) manifesto as a standalone webpage and not on a closed platform like Medium? And the name is interesting, but did you registered any domain? Thanks!

Privacy as infrastructure is the right framing. Self-governing communities need settlement rails that no single participant can censor or surveil. Zcash already offers that at the protocol level. The question is whether tooling catches up fast enough for real community commerce.
