[Proposal] WordPress Plugin for Embedding dApps

Hey Zcash Community,
BrightV has submitted a proposal to build a component that allows the easy embedding of decentralized applications (dApps) into WordPress. This project will allow website owners to integrate dApps as components, allowing visitors to interact with them directly in their existing WordPress environment.

Objectives
Quick Integration: Enable embedding of Zcash dApps as WordPress components, enhancing accessibility without requiring technical expertise.

Why proposal?
This will enable users to easily access dApps and blockchain technology, promoting broader adoption. Developers can easily integrate dApps into WordPress without modifying source code, simply install a plugin to configure display settings, and connect new users with blockchain solutions.

Hi @BrightV - Welcome to the forum, and thank you for submitting your grant proposal! We will review it in the upcoming weeks and reach out if we have any questions.

In the meantime, if you have any questions for us, you can post them to this thread or DM us at @ZcashGrants.

Zcash Community - We want to hear your feedback on this grant! You can post your comments to this thread or DM us at @ZcashGrants if you’d like to provide feedback in private.

Thanks!

I would like to get some feedback on this,

  1. From the community do you think this will have an impact on the accessibility to Zcash’s dApp adoption of Zcash solutions in mainstream web environments

  2. From the technical members, do you have any thoughts on our approach to securing user interactions?

hi.

im not sure you have made yourself too familiar with Zcash.
as there are not many dapps that i know of running on Zcash.

so kinda weird proposal in that sense. you can ofcourse bring examples of the dapps you meant to embedd.

good luck.

Thank you for your feedback; I appreciate you taking the time to engage. I got introduced to Zcash through the ZenHub hackathon, which is centered around building dApps and fostering privacy-focused solutions—is that correct?

And you’re right that Zcash doesn’t currently have an extensive dApp ecosystem compared to other blockchains, but that’s what this proposal aims to support. Ethereum, Polygon, and similar networks have benefited from extensive dApp ecosystems. By embedding and integrating potential applications directly on WordPress, site owners and developers can more easily explore Zcash-powered solutions, driving new interest to the network.

The plugin aims to support emerging Zcash-compatible applications, such as private payment gateways, secure messaging, and anonymous voting—features that align well with Zcash’s privacy strengths. If there’s interest in exploring or developing specific dApps, this plugin could provide the infrastructure to make them easily accessible on WordPress.
Thanks again, and if you have ideas for dApps that would benefit from WordPress integration, I’d love to hear them!

i do agree with your view. this is needed.
but i would say maybe not just yet.

or is it something that can be built so it wouldnt matter what the dapp is about it could be implemented into the wordpress site?

i dont think so right? cause every dapp is different and needs special work probably?

i hope smarter ppl comment on it also :+1:

Thanks for your support! I agree that we’re just beginning to build a strong dApp ecosystem for Zcash, and that’s precisely why this plugin is perfectly timed. It’s not slowing anything down instead it’s helping! It’s a win for ZenHub’s efforts because it opens up a clear, easy way for both new and existing dApps to reach a massive audience of WordPress users.
The best part is It’s smart and flexible, and will work with most dApps right from the start. No more of that heavy, custom coding specifically for WordPress. A few dApps might need tiny tweaks, but most will fit in perfectly—just like that.

Another key point is that this tool is affordable, it covers most dApps for just $6,500.

I appreciate your input and look forward to more perspectives!

@BrightV Thank you for your submission. After consideration from @ZcashGrants and sufficient time for the community to provide feedback on the forum, the committee has decided to reject this proposal.

The committee appreciates your grant submission efforts and encourages you to continue as an active member of the Zcash community going forward, both here on the forum and in the below avenues as well:
