Speaking as a ZCG committee member:
I fully support FPF’s proposal for ZCG to become an independent committee under FPF as an interim step toward full independence. While I share some of @joshs’s concerns about the relationship between FPF and ZF, I believe these issues will be addressed and resolved over time.
At this time, it is not economically feasible for ZCG to become fully independent. This transition would provide the committee with more autonomy and the necessary resources to operate effectively. Additionally, since FPF is domiciled in the Cayman Islands, it ensures that ZCG’s potential future portion of the Dev Fund is allocated to a non-US entity, which helps promote much needed geographic decentralization.
I have worked closely with Alex and his team at ZF over the past two and a half years. He is a strong leader who provides a high standard of operational and administrative support. I have no doubt that the same level of support will be provided to ZCG by FPF.
