What Zcash GUI are you trying to verify? The official client is Linux only and doesn’t include a GUI.

That’s weird as I obtained it, signed it and uploaded it to multiple keyservers. You can also download directly from Github zecwallet/public_key.asc at master · ZcashFoundation/zecwallet · GitHub
