Hi Zcashers! We’re rolling out community-led workshops for the Zk Av Club Foundry @ZCG grant and want to sanity-check compensation rules with you all, the Zcash community.
From the accepted proposal:
-
Services (community prize pool): $8,000 in ZEC — for community contributions replacing “cloud” services and incentivizing engagement.
-
Compensation: $40,000 — for the core team’s curriculum design and production work, paid per module.
-
It also notes that advisors may produce supporting content and receive compensation from the community prize pool.
-
This would not pay retrospectively for workshops that the Zk Av Club Foundry team members have already delivered.
Question: If a core team member delivers a community-led workshop, should they be eligible for payment from the community prize pool, or should that pool be reserved for non-team community members (with core team compensated only from the $40k line)?
If you think team members can be paid from the community pool, what guardrails would you expect?
We’d appreciate your perspectives so we can publish a clear, transparent policy that aligns with the intent of the grant and community expectations. Thanks!
