This is our fortnightly community and communications update, for the latest update on the engineering front, check out last week’s update.
FYI: that the 2.0.1 release scheduled for this Monday (September 24) is definitely going to slip to later in the week or possibly next week. We’ll have more details of what’s included in the release in the release announcement blog and are working to get a release candidate out today but that might be delayed until Monday. You can follow along with zcashd development process in the community chat #zcashd-team channel.
From the blog…
More videos from the Perspectives series are being released each week with the newest set on Privacy and Regulation published yesterday. You can look through the set of all of the Perspective series announcement blogs or just watch the full playlist on YouTube.
We also published about the Sapling turnstile migration if you missed it. This process essentially allows for an audit of the existing shielded Zcash monetary supply as balances move into new Sapling addresses.
We have more plans for Sapling related educational blogs coming up. We’re particularly excited about shielded HD wallets (shielded addresses created deterministically and backed up by a master seed) and diversified addresses (a set of shielded addresses that can be viewed by a single view key and spent by a single spend key). So keep an eye out on the blog for those explainers and further updates to the documentation.
