Native ZEC swaps went live on THORChain October 5. Bitcoin holders can now swap into native ZEC over decentralized rails — no custodian, no KYC, no intermediary. The pool activated after a node churn procedure, and every operational THORChain node is now monitoring the Zcash blockchain. The catch: swaps use transparent transactions only. Shielded privacy doesn’t carry across the bridge. So the flow is BTC → transparent ZEC → user shields locally. The liquidity is shallow and THORChain itself warned users to exercise care, but the infrastructure is live. A permissionless on-ramp from Bitcoin to ZEC now exists.

The ZCSH ETF story is shifting. Grayscale’s fund has now gone two weeks without a single day of net inflows — none since September 22. AUM dropped from $979M to roughly $751M, with daily redemptions hitting $30M at the peak. The fund is still net positive since its August 25 launch, but the momentum has flipped. Meanwhile a whale pulled 1,000 ZEC ($1.33M) off Binance and moved it straight into the shielded pool — the opposite direction from the ETF trade. Institutional money is leaving the regulated wrapper; someone else is buying the dip and going dark.

ZEC is around $1,207–$1,330 depending on when you check — down roughly 8% intraday and 29% from the September peak. The $1,270–$1,300 zone is the line. If it holds, this is a healthy correction inside a 700% annual rally. If it doesn’t, $1,060 is the next demand floor. The October 20 mainnet decision is 12 days out.
