I am trying to figure out how to best use ZEC anonymously and I came across this question:
Imagine you have 2 shielded outputs, 0.1 and 0.2 ZEC and you want to spend 0.25 ZEC anonymously.
If you spend 0.25 directly, these 2 are used together in the same transaction.
My question is: will the blockchain show that 2 shielded outputs are used, or will it appear as just one value that is being spend?
If it’s the former, then there can be some privacy leaks, because it limits the numer of shielded outputs that are being used (for example it’s unlikely that a shielded output that is larger than 0.25 ZEC is involved). In this case it would be better to “consolidate” the 2 shielded outputs first into one big shielded output (0.3 ZEC) and then spend from that output to a t-address.
If it’s the latter, than it’s just as private as any other “z to t” transaction.
Can someone please enlighten me?
