FROST-GUI Demo
The demo now supports full* DKG compatibility. A coordinator can select participants from a list to start a DKG session, and the remaining participants join automatically.
Note: frost-client supports only one active DKG session at a time, so the same limitation applies to FROST_GUI.
UFVK Generation
Initially, UFVKs were generated but not stored. Now, generated UFVKs are persisted on disk, moving one step closer to a complete solution.
ZcashMetro UI Issue
The https://zcashmetro.io UI wasn’t updating properly—blocks were mined but transactions weren’t animated correctly, and trains didn’t leave the station. After investigation, it turned out that while error handling needed improvement, the root cause was a compatibility issue with zec.rocks handling requests. As a backup, hanh’s lightwalletd servers have been put in place.
Further error handling improvements and possibly contacting zec.rocks for a dedicated server are in the pipeline.
Discord Bridge Setup
Assisted @vito with configuring a Discord bridge between the Zcash Global and Penumbra Discord servers, enhancing ecosystem collaboration.
ZM Bot Improvements
ZM Bot is a friendly greeting assistant for the Zcash community. It warmly welcomes users with messages like “good morning” or “good night,” and lucky participants might even receive a golden ticket redeemable for a prize in $ZEC.
Golden Ticket Feature Enhancement
The “Golden Ticket” feature has been overhauled. Although there was initial concern about a database bug (with only 6 records showing), it turned out the logic was designed to update existing records instead of creating new ones. A new relational database structure has now been implemented, ensuring the ticket awards are merit-based and reflective of user engagement. The updated version has been well received by the community.
UI Bug Fix
A small UI bug, where a reply message was being concatenated incorrectly, has been resolved.
Dizzy’s Activedrop Enhancements
Dizzy Bot is the bot we uso withing Zcash Global server for awarding our users with small amounts of $ZEC.
Meaningful Engagement Encouragement
The activedrop command was intended to encourage meaningful conversations. However, users were bypassing this by sending only emojis. A filter has been added to ensure that only real messages count as chat activity, promoting a more organic discussion flow.
ZecStats Discord Bot Updates
New Price Widget
A new price widget has replaced the old $ZEC widget. It now updates every 5 minutes using data from the CoinGecko API, ensuring more timely and accurate pricing information.
Shielded Supply Improvements
The command for displaying the Zcash shielded supply has been fixed. Additionally, new widgets have been added to display:
- Orchard supply
- Sapling supply
- Total shielded supply (Orchard + Sapling)
- Lockbox (total amount of $ZEC stored)

Onboarding New Members from Zcash Brazil Events
Following the in-person Zcash Brazil events, new members joined our server. To ensure a smooth onboarding process, the following steps were implemented:
- Welcome and Orientation: New members were greeted and provided with an overview of the server’s structure, rules, and key resources.
- Introduction to Zcash: A brief introduction to Zcash’s mission, technology, and community was shared to familiarize members with the ecosystem.
- Mentorship Program: Experienced members were assigned as mentors to guide newcomers and answer any questions.
- Interactive Sessions: New members were encouraged to participate in discussions and activities to integrate into the community.
Support During ZconV Presentations
- Ensured participants could access the virtual platform and resolved technical issues.
- Supported speakers with rehearsals and feedback to improve presentations.
- Moderated Q&A sessions to engage the audience.
- Shared materials and recordings for attendees.
