  • Zcon 7, Cancún (October 27–29): Zcash Brazil was at Zcon 7, the Zcash Foundation’s annual conference celebrating Zcash’s 10th anniversary, following the sessions on consensus, governance and financial privacy and meeting the people we work with online all year. [Schonell, Pac, Iogy, Mine, Michael, Amandita, Samara]. Iogy and Mine brought swag made for the occasion, a Zcash Brazil beach sarong, a T-shirt and a thank-you tag, handed out in person; they also shared a discussion group with Shielded Mark, whose Engineering Office Hours they help livestream, and worked at the ZK AV Club recording station, helping capture the voices and conversations of the event.

  • One connection is already turning into work: Iogy met Violet from ZECsy and Ryan from ZK AV Club, and LiveZEC is now being set up for ZECsy’s booth at Exxxotica Miami in December (QR code on a screen, shielded tips read aloud, word filter and “Only notify” queue) and as an OBS Browser Source for ZK AV Club live streams.   • Road to Vice City, the last delivery: PS5 for a Brazilian resident, with Zcash Brasil and LiveZEC. Entries close November 11, and the winner will be drawn on November 13 from the hash of the first Zcash block mined after 15:00 (Brasília time), the same verifiable method as edition 1, now running on PacBR’s new giveaway system with drand as the entropy source. 3/3 announcement · PS5 giveaway · Still time, until November 11
  • Privacy Week: @michae2xl served as judge for Privacy Week at the Solana Hacker House, where 7 projects utilized Zcash | $500 USD for Zcash winners by our Team.

  • OpenZcash kept growing: We hit 1M requests in October with ˜22000 unique visitors, Privacy & Policy section; a public record for every project in the ecosystem; Private Chat with NYM mixnet, OpenZcash Participate got passkeys, editable comments, GitHub sync and Ironwood anchoring, and already tracked four approvals, one rejection and the GraphSense proposal; a vision for Zcred; a Zcash Oracle teaser; the new Ongoing Test section, launched with Crosslink; and the record that every Q3 2026 coinholder grant was paid, 7,320 ZEC through the shielded pool.
  • 0xramp: is helping us with onramp and offramp in Brazil (0xramp Metrics).
  • Zebra Talk, two new episodes: @AAmandita_ talked with Vlad and Zeugh from Boar App (October 2) and with Victor Lacôrte from Vellora App, a payments solution, on autonomy, privacy and technology (October 14). Boar App · Victor Lacôrte
  • Influence 360: Schonell planned and set up the LiveZEC influencer campaign, with creator briefing, participation criteria, deliverables, budget and deadlines, and reviewed the rules and promo content of the PS5 giveaway. He also requested and reviewed TechCripto’s guide How to use LiveZEC, kept track of the deliverables agreed with TechCripto and Papo de Baleia, and clarified Zcash Brazil’s guidelines for representing the brand at AMAs and external events.
  • ZEC in DeFi, step by step: E-zec recorded a tutorial on lending and borrowing with native ZEC through RHEA Finance, edited by the design team. Watch
  • Community support, by E-zec: the month was about getting the community ready for NU7 and Zcon 7, explaining the protocol changes, keeping everyone informed on the ZCG funding discussions and why governance participation matters, bringing new users to zec.live, and promoting OpenZcash as open, public data. ZEC Insider ran on October 1, 15 and 22 (the last one moved up so the team could travel to Zcon 7), ZECTrivia on October 8 and 29 (the 29th hosted by E-zec alone while the team was in Cancún), and Zcash Engineering Office Hours with Shielded Mark on October 20.
  • Infrastructure, security and reliability, by James Katz: ZcashMetro got more bug fixes and a self-recovery mechanism that restarts the service on its own; SSL certificates were renewed; the Voting Authority Node was updated and unused services disabled after recent vulnerabilities in the voting authority stack; and ZecFaucet, while claims are paused, got a new landing page with historical stats (total ZEC sent, claims, donations and received memos). All recurring costs (VPS, AWS, APIs, domains) stayed covered.
  • ZECTrivia tooling: PacBR reorganized the ranking database, added season archiving so past seasons are preserved, and shipped a /trivia man help command.
  • Community every day, by Andy: moderation and onboarding on Discord, spam removal, games and tips, presence in calls and lives, support on X and YouTube, translated news for the community, and bug and typo reports on published content.
  • 10 years of Zcash, in one video: the design team made a timeline video for the anniversary. Watch · Post
