Zcash Developer Relations Engineer

May 2026

Dear community,

As you might have heard, this is my last grant milestone as I am joining ZODL. I want to thank each one of you for your support and confidence during the almost 3 years as ZCG grantee. Everything that I achieved I did collaborating with others. That’s the greatest strength that Zcash has.

I want to personally thank ZCG committee members I worked with throughout the years @aquietinvestor, @gguy, @zerodartz, @decentralistdan, @ruzcash, @hanh and of course FPF folks which keep things running and help me so many times @danika, @alex_zf. The best thing is that this isn’t a good bye. We will keep working together to make our ecosystem bigger, more decentralized and resilient. Your work has been foundational and a lot of this growth we have been seeing so far originates on the seeds of your work from many years ago. I have nothing but infinite gratitude to you all. Let’s keep making the Zcash we want to see in the world.

Executive summary

May ended with a huge milestone. Zainod is “zcashd deprecation” complete. This means that all the building blocks are in place for Block Explorers and Zallet to use Zainod and build what’s needed to deprecate Zcashd as a whole. There is some integration work to be done to iterate and iron out any wrinkles. During this month Pacu helped Zaino folks to run this “last mile” and the hackathon was a big part of it. We could easily iterate on these issues while we also worked on NYM integration for ZingoLib to show at the Zcash Dev Summit where important conversations took place. Additionally, there was a lot of work behind the scenes to respond to security updates across the Zcash stack. Pacu informed ZCG that he will be joining ZODL. Him and the committee convened that Pacu would create a series of offboarding documentation and will keep collaborating with them in any matters that are necessary operational continuity during June.
