Zcash Integration in Mobazha - A decentralized privacy ecommerce

Hello,

This is fengzie as CEO of the Mobazha application, which is a decentralized privacy ecommerce network.

After OpenBazaar stopped early in 2021, as I firmly believe decentralized ecommerce is very important in future society and life, I inherit OB1’s vision and managed to set up the whole decentralized network. Meanwhile I have enhanced the whole backend infrastructure and updated the whole frontend from complex html template to modern vue tech stack. I’ve spent more than 3 years of 80%~90% work and weekend time on it.

Currently the app is almost ready. I’ve contacted 2 local medium ecommerce vendors and tried to sell products with their support. One provides T shirts, bags, cups and photo frames etc. worldwide(customizaton supported), and the other one provides high-end custom dolls.

As I define Mobazha as a privacy ecommerce network, we need the payment coin of privacy as well. Currently we support BTC, BCH and Polygon (USDT/USDC on Polygon as well). I want to add one privacy coin. I’ve checked Monero, while their multisign tech is very complex and requires much time to understand and integrate.

I knew about Zcash when I discovered OpenBazaar in late 2017. From a research doc of Monero MoneroResearch.info , it also talks about Zcash.

Previous studies (e.g., [20]) have shown that Bitcoin is highly traceable, meaning that early purchases on the platform may be able to de-anonymize certain vendors. Since the introduction of the multiwallet, however, there has been large growth in Zcash usage, with at least6 12,441 observed listings accepting payment in the currency.

So I am considering adding Zcash in Mobazha as a payment method and I want to get your support. Currently I haven’t open source it and I anticipate to do it once we are ready to have some token released (We have a general idea on it. We also personally have some connection to the original OB team). So I apply this application for usability and adoption of Zcash instead of infrastructure building. Hope you could understand.

I’m trying to apply for a total 35k USD equivalent Zcash. I plan to spend around 2 months setting up a Zcash blockbook server, building up a small Zcash wallet and fully supporting Zcash as direct and escrow payment for orders in this new infrastructure. The funds would also be used to do publicity of demo/video/blogs etc. in various crypto communities to gain more users. It might be more than a half year.

The whole dev work is almost finished and we are going to do publicity. Hope we can get your support.

Hi @HIROSHIMAH , thanks for your interest.

As it is decentralized, it requires user to install mobile/desktop app on own device to connect to the network. No server hosting. However, for the web version, I plan to dynamic generate and host nodes for users once an account is registered and propagated. While, the web version is not ready yet. It is just an intial version at this moment, and need refine and add authentication support.

Recently, I am busy working on items to online the listings from the 2 medium ecommence vendors, such as enriching SKU fields and adding optional features support.

If you want a demo account without having to install any software, I would try to refine and deploy a web node in this couple of days once have time. Please expect it online around this Friday. I would let you know when it is deployed.

Yes, user could use Zcash for each trade if prefer. Also we could provide Tor support when the basic flow works…

I’m working on the demo show of the web envrionment. I plan to prepare 3 user roles for playing: buyer, seller and moderator. Seller creates a demo listing with a very low price; buyer can view and buy it through direct and escrow payment; moderator can help on moderation once a case happens.
Due to some other work in parallel, the environment might be a couple of days delay…

Please keep in mind that Mobazha itself is a decentralized network. Users connect to each other peer to peer and build up the whole work. For the web version, we hold the node on server just for trial. The node connects to the network.
