Zcash is captured. That is the problem. Grifters and people who dont understand the purpose of money. its not free if you can lose 5% of your money on any given day or you get taxed 20% to the dev fund, or you dont have a vote based on ownership. The execution is not about privacy at the ground level where people actually live. Its an ideology controlled by a very few people and the technology cant ever reach real people because of extremist views… To be commercialized it needs people/developers who can bring privacy to real world use cases, it needs democratic voting not hand picked highly biased voting groups, and it needs to enable developers the freedom to earn and build without asking for permission. Opt in compliance with privacy at the base layer and the edge is the only way forward where governments; especially democratically elected governments have a role.
I’m thinking about making an animation from some of these forum threads. It would make for great entertainment.
The current annual devfund cost of (zkav + zechub) == 84,980 USD < 9.5% of Zcash Media 2023 grant.
Presently, funding for both of these community projects is set to expire in less than a year.
How can active community projects be included in the block reward conversation?
i agree that the “Zcash Media” is an essential project and I support them all the way.
but… we should stop thinking about how to slice the dev fund,
it starts to remind me politics, where each groups wants to prove that they are eligible for a slice of the budget.
if “Zcash Media” get the 2% slice, it means no other Media company will have a chance… Zcash Media will have monopoly over all the Zcash content.
We already did this mistake with the development and everything… maybe its time to realize that it does not work
