I said it before, we definitely need to have a multimillion dollar marketing budget given the enormous size of Zcash’s addressable market, I am not arguing against that:
The thing I am arguing against is spending 2 million dollars on very expensive documentary films to be shown on youtube because that will have close to no impact in driving adoption for Zcash. I can guarantee you that, as I mentioned, educational materials through mass media/cosmopolite channels is LITERALLY the worst formula we can bet on to drive adoption. And it also happens to be the most expensive one.
Rejecting the proposal is a no brainer really.
For some reason you seem to be obssessed with funding 37L, not in funding the right type of marketing that’s needed.
I hope it is not because you have a hidden agenda.

Maybe its time to lock this thread… This grant isnt relevant anymore. We should wait for Zcash media’s new grant.

Thanks for your response @Chammy. I recently discovered how to use the “filter by user” feature 
. Should have tried it earlier. After reading through all you replies I have a better grasp of what your advocating.
I don’t disagree with you that there are probably cheaper ways to achieve similar/better outcomes. By my belief is I still think this proposal would have been a net benefit to Zcash. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be able to budge each other’s opinion in that matter . But funding this proposal doesn’t prevent us from executing some of the other marketing campaigns you’ve suggested. If ZCG want to fund some of your other wonderful suggestions you had I’d support this too .
Moving forward the question I’d ask you is how do we kick start some of these other suggestions you had for more productive marketing efforts. Do we need ZCG to RFP? Do we need to nominate someone(s) to lead the effort? What can ZCG and/or the community do to next?
I appreciate your concern. My only agenda to date is as a supporter/advocate of Zcash as a technology, an advocate to bettering the technology for applicable use-cases, and an advocate for proliferating the use of said technology. I do this driven by my motivations as an engineer that understands Zcash to be the best in class solution for many things, and as holder of ZEC.

In a world where we had unlimited resources that might be true, in the real world, what you say is false.
Either way, it would be a great idea to lock this thread, there’s no proposal to discuss and keep coming back at this is just a waste of everybody’s time.
In a world where ZCG has over 130,000ZEC and a proposal that costs less then 30,000ZEC at ($68USD) would leave ZCG with 100,000ZEC. While I sympathize with your concerns about ZCG spending all their ZEC I believe 100,000ZEC is more then enough to also fund the other marketing proposals. It’s not unlimited but certainly doesn’t prevent funding other proposals.
@Chammy Should we create a new thread to discuss how we can best move forward with marketing campaigns other then then Zcash Media proposal? Maybe ZCG can RFP for them? I worry that any marketing teams seeing the Zcash Media thread may not have the time to read it in full and get the wrong message that ZCG is not willing to fund marketing grants. Or that the effort required to secure a grant is too large considering the uncertainty in securing the grant. How do we fix this?
