I get the impression there’re some significant shifts in large-scale cultures these days.
As is the case for everyone I only have my own pinhole perspective, so it’s hard to say what’s happening out there.. but I have the assurance that whatever is happening, core Zcash values haven’t wavered.
I am committed to the simple ideal of freedom, which I attribute to the Cypherpunks.
Freedom is the only possible container for inquiry, it is rain watering the seeds of curiosity.
I am free to inquire.. free to ask “Why?”.. it is this freedom against which I test my beliefs and update them continuously.
Because all my beliefs are questionable they can adapt, and perhaps paradoxically, this is exactly why they do not Waver.
I remind my daughter that it is acceptable to politely ask “Why?”.
Always, in every context, and of any authority, she has the Right, the Freedom, to ask.
I am grateful that increasingly it is her, that reminds me.
