Ok, let me rephrase that, ECC developers suggesting that destroying the Zcash held in legacy Zcash shielded pools is an option, and possibly a preferred option, i.e. the suggestion itself, concerns me (with regards to both my confidence in the viability of applications such as this, and also how statements like this are perceived in the wider ecosystem/industry).
Note: I do agree that Zcash can’t realistically directly support every pool forever, but I also believe that there must be a way for someone to dig up their buried Zcash at any point in the future and be able to transact with it.
