Hey Zcashers! I’m just returning from 2+ weeks (mostly) offline. It was a nice break and it’s great to come back and see, with fresh eyes, how energized and active the community is lately. Go Team Z!!
ZFAV Club is warming up for the fifth meetup tomorrow, 25 May 2023, at 17h UTC and Zcon4 is just TWO months away!!
At the meetup, @decentralistdan and I will lead a discussion about Zcon4. We’ll give an overview of what all participants and attendees, both online and on-location, can expect from the event and what ZFAV Club projects we’ll be playing with through all of ZK week.

My workshop on audiovisual event production for grassroots media at dWeb Camp 2023 got accepted! 
I’m very excited about this event for many reasons. It will be a great opportunity to grow the ZF A/V Club and develop relationships with talented individuals in adjacent communities with aligned values. On a personal note: I’m looking forward to reconnecting with many friends who I haven’t seen since before the plague and nothing can top that!

What’s up Zeal?
The ZFAV Monthly Meetup is tomorrow and I would like to extend a special invite to any and all Zcash community grantees and grant applicants to join us in a pilot conversation for a new, on-going community call. 
Zcash Grant Calls (needs a better name) will be happening on a monthly basis as a dedicated space to support these active members of our community. Let’s use the ZFAV Meetup tomorrow to start the conversation and begin brainstorming how these calls can benefit us all.
We want to hear your ideas! Please come share.

Wondering how you can participate in and benefit from the ZF A/V Club?
Opportunities for collaboration, learning and practicing skills related to A/V production are readily available within ZFAV for anyone who wants to to play with us during weekly meetings, workshops and monthly calls.
The weekly calls are zero-at-stake environments where you can practice and have no fear of “failure” because they aren’t published or streamed anywhere.
If you think of some other way that you would like to participate or if you have questions about any of these roles, please contact me via DM or somewhere in the ZFAV Discord.
A starting list of roles that I thought of looks something like this:
- Event organizing (Coordinate and organize a remote workshop or a meetup)
- Host/Co-hosting (Camera on for public and recorded calls, though I’m open to other ideas to anonymize hosts)
- OBS producer / Restreamer (Push livestreams to various platforms for reach and/or backup recordings - high resource requirement)
- VDO.ninja director (Organize the vdo streams and coordinate with OBS producer - very low local resource requirement)
- Voice of the chat (Moderate and monitor chat on various platforms, communicate those messages to hosts during events)
- Stage manager (Give people access to and remove them from the stage during organized podcast-like events)
- Live translations (Use transcription/translation tools to broadcast livestreams to our global communities in your native language)
- Publishing (Meetups, community calls, shorts, etc. all need some post-production and metadata for publishing)
I hope to create tutorials for all of these adventures sometime this summer.

Zeal Talk: Zcon4 Preshow
During registration, Zcash Foundation AudioVisual Club will be producing a talk show nearby where attendees can join us in a discussion about the event, their interest in Zcash and maybe answer some light-hearted questions. This, and (almost) everything we make at Zcon4, will be livestreamed on Free2z and the ZFAV YouTube channel.
