ZK AV Club Recording Station Field Notes: Sub0 & Devconnect 2025

Buenos Aires was packed with builders, creators, and decentralized tech enthusiasts last month. Right in the middle of it all, at Sub0 and Devconnect, we dropped a ZK AV Club Recording Station — a volunteer-powered media lab where raw ideas turned into high-quality conversations, reflections, and stories that will live on beyond the venue walls.

Now we’re going live to unpack what happened and where we’re taking it next.

Some travel that made this Recording Station happen was backed by Zcash Community Grants @ZCG — huge thanks to them for helping us show up in Buenos Aires.

What is this?

The ZK AV Club Recording Station is an on-site, volunteer-run media lab where attendees can document conversations, ideas, and stories in high-quality audio/video. Building a shared, open archive for self-representation and community memory.

It’s not a branded media booth or a traditional content studio. It’s closer to an open mic for ideas:

  • hallway conversations turned into focused recordings
  • micro-roundtables where two or three people synced up on a topic
  • experiments: first-time hosts, new podcast pilots, unusual formats

Our job is to lower the barrier to being part of the community’s story — and then make sure those conversations don’t disappear once the conference schedule is over.

Sub0 & Devconnect

First things first, your volunteer Zk Av Club crew at Sub0 and Devconnect 2025 was @zerodartz @Autotunafish @robmarn @j32804

At Sub0: symbiosis (November 14–15), we turned that pink-fur-lined podcast room into a portal for real talk. Folks dropped in from across the web3 ecosystem to share their journeys, ideas, and experiments. It wasn’t just recordings; it was community alchemy. Our transformed corner of the venue became a vibrant hub for audiovisual documentation:

  • pink fur aesthetics (shoutout to WebZero for that unforgettable design!)
  • nonstop sessions with friends, collaborators, and new faces
  • spontaneous moments of magic that had us buzzing for days

Huge thanks to @Rektormoon for inviting us, the Sub0 team for equipping us with everything we needed, and everyone who stepped into the room and made it sing.

Rolling straight into Devconnect, the Recording Station kept the momentum going. We collaborated with attendees to record conversations, sentiments, and on-chain adventures. ZK AV Club handled the AV tech so more voices could echo far past the event halls, building that open archive we all crave. Creators dropped by to record high-quality pods, idea-sharing sessions, and personal reflections. A huge thanks to @mr_ligi and the Devconnect crew for including us — it was a blast seeing the community come alive in such a dynamic space.

Extra love to Devconnect Destino, who provided additional tickets and enabled more web3 builders, thinkers, and creators to be part of this archive we’re building together.

These activations weren’t just about recording; they were about cultivating a new kind of public good. The Recording Station is a labor of love powered by people who care about decentralized tech and community media. If you were there, you know the vibe: collaborative, inclusive, and charged with web3 spirit. :high_voltage::flamingo::studio_microphone:

Why we’re doing a live debrief
