Your twitter followers are not âthe zcash communityâ - the community is MUCH larger than that.
90% approval ? How many âvotesâ did you actually get, how many people did you ask ? I donât buy it.

Wasnât there a bait and switch with that Twitter profile? I thought that used to be the ZECpages profile that was then changed to ZcashUG, seemingly to inflate the popularity of the groupâŚ
And I donât like you conflating âthe Zcash Communityâ with these Twitter followers.
It sounds like this is another grant proposal from James?
Our Twitter community is a sample of the Zcash Community, especially zcashers who support ZECpages.
Our poll averaged more than 1 respondent per hour and was accessible for one day on Twitter. While ZECpages and ZUG members are a unique sample of the Zcash Community, we are confident that any identical poll opened anywhere else in the community will reveal similar result given the interviews we conducted with prior ZF grant recipients and prominent members of the Zcash Community
Yes, ZECpages on Twitter became Zcash Users Group on Twitter. ZECpagers are zcash users. Of course, we are all a subset of the Zcash Community.
So a little more than 24 votes IN TOTAL, you polled people who were already followers and claim that means 90% community support. Not credible at all, sorry.
An overwhelming response, despite a mediocre sample size, suggests large support for this project. We would be willing to reconduct the poll on a larger forum.
The proposal was also retweeted by @zooko @amiller @wcodesmoore and other prominent members of the community.
The way the polling was done suggests extreme survival bias.
Agreed. ZF may also survey ZCAP in regards to increasing transparency with business dashboards and accountability with alerts and notifications.
Perhaps more importantly, ZOMG members are expressing time constraints to perform critical tasks and requesting ZF for additional resources to facilitate administrative duties.
By opening endpoints and visualizing factors, decisions can be made faster, plus much more.
ZOMG is really grateful for this proposal, but weâve decided the impact doesnât justify the cost.
Some ideas we had for lower cost ways of achieving this would be:
Creating issues in the existing grants platform Github repo, and bringing them to the attention of ZF and ZOMG: Issues ¡ ZcashFoundation/zcash-grant-system ¡ GitHub (ZF has a contract developer who could likely make some of these changes for a much lower cost)
Building a visualization in Google Sheets or Airtable based on the existing spreadsheet.
If anyone would like to push this forward weâd invite them to, and we might consider funding a (much smaller) grant proposal for this work too.
