Unfortunately, there have been incidents where users lost funds through cross-chain swaps because of various reasons and no way to recover without third-party support. With atomic swaps none of this is possible. Either the swap completes on both sides or both parties get their funds back. No intermediary, no support ticket, no ambiguity. Zodl should have a trustless swap option to prevent cases like this.
