ZWL Recovery, a funding experiment

Hello all,

ZWL Recovery is a tool that helps you migrate your funds out of ZWL (if you know the seed phrase), to an address of your choice.
It’s development is recorded on a stream: Playlist

In the last video of the playlist, I talk about its development and intended funding.

In short, there will be no grant submission because I’d like to see if projects like this can be organically funded through donations.

I watched your Livestream when you were working on this!

Thank you for building things like this to make Zcashers lives easier  :shield::zebra:

very good, excellent contribution.

Awesome tool, but I’m getting:

thread 'tokio-runtime-worker' panicked at src/scan.rs:47:52:
called `Result::unwrap()` on an `Err` value: timed out waiting for connection: unable to open database file: ../zwl-recover.db

And scan screen stays at Height: 0

Thanks for testing. Let’s try using a different db location. → 1.0.4

Thanks for the support, but still didn’t worked, then I tried compiling for source and nothing.

Bu then I changed ZWL_DB to an absolute path /tmp/zwl-recover.db (for testing) and it worked!

Don’t know why … maybe OS quirks?

Yes, it looks like a filesystem permission issue. Maybe due to the app image thing. It works on Mac and windows for sure.

Edit: I’ve made the app pick a temporary dir for the user.
