Announcing the Zcash X Monitor, a new feature for the PGPZ Community

Hi friends! I’ve added a feature to the PGPZ Community that may be useful even if you aren’t especially interested in policy.

Join the community and check out X Monitor, a tool for following the near-real-time conversation about Zcash on X. Using the X API, it captures Zcash-related posts every 15 minutes and uses Venice.ai models to:

  • Classify posts by group, significance, and theme
  • Enable semantic search using embeddings
  • Identify trends
  • Generate summaries covering the past two hours, 12 hours, and week

Enjoy, and please share your feedback. More features are coming soon!

If you haven’t joined PGPZ yet, you can use my referral link:

Cool! I’m thinking something like that, but based on commit messages (or issues / PRs content) to build an automatic daily digest. We have the live archive, we need a story teller.

Introducing Zcash Topic Briefings in the PGPZ Community

Hi friends,

I’ve added a new feature to the PGPZ Community: Zcash Topic Briefings.

Topic Briefings provide curated answers to important, frequently discussed questions about Zcash. Each briefing is generated using the public conversations captured by X Monitor, then reviewed and published by PGPZ before appearing to members.

The initial briefings cover:

  • What is the Zcash Ironwood upgrade, and when is it happening?
  • What is the Z3 architecture of Zcash, and what is its current status?
  • What is Tachyon, and what is its status?
  • What is Zakura and its status?
  • Are there any current pressing regulatory concerns related to Zcash and how can the PGPZ Community work to address them?

Each briefing includes:

  • A concise set of key points
  • A more detailed explanation
  • The date through which the evidence is current
  • Direct links to the relevant posts from the monitored Zcash conversation on X
  • Review and publication dates

This is not an open-ended AI chatbot. PGPZ selects the questions, reviews the generated answers, and publishes only the briefings that are ready for members. Briefings will be refreshed on topic-specific schedules as the Zcash conversation and development landscape evolve.

You can find them here:

community.pgpz.org/x-monitor/briefings

Topic Briefings are available with a free PGPZ Community membership. I’d welcome suggestions for additional questions that would make useful briefings, as well as feedback on the format and current answers.

One briefing that could be useful for newcomers is: “How do I choose the right Zcash wallet?”

It could explain, in simple terms, that wallets may differ in transparent and shielded support, platforms, migration readiness, and available features. From a support perspective, users do not always realize that every Zcash wallet offers a different level of functionality.

Thanks for the suggestion. Here it is.
