That will give us plenty of funding to make the move to ProgPOW or RandomX, with plenty of funding left over for wallet improvements and a whole host of other projects.

For me it looks like a Mini Las Vegas billboard associated with gambling. But intepretation of the logo is aboslutly subjective to anybody. But the message it sends (or should send in many cases) is important.
There is a good chance your are wrong here. Logo and colors are super important aspects and factors when designing a brand. The unbelievible it sounds but a logo, colors and appeareance has a huge psychological effect. I studied the last 6 months colors and logos for my own new business and readed about 1000+ papers on that.
Logos, colors, appearance, even font used are not dedicated to the insiders you are, they are dedicated to appeal people that are not involved in genereally. Hence you absolutly correctly say you are interested in Hloos work and/or tech, but if you think about how many of the people have an idea how hloo is? 0.01%? Just as a sidenote as it’s interesting how everybody projects something into a logo but few actually give it more importance.
If it will hold a 1/10 of ZEC i would call that a mega ultra super success.

I would agree with your analysis. I’m not by any means saying that a logo doesn’t matter. For sure, it is the first thing anyone sees with a company and is intended to grasp more users. The color, font, placement, etc all are delicately selected in order to achieve an emotional end.
That said, this logo isn’t a bad choice. There was actually some thought put into it instead of just a random “Y” with some colored background or an abstract design that has no meaning as sonya mentioned earlier. What I don’t agree with is the emphasis on this logo as a way to discredit the work being done with the business or to lower the quality of the business itself. As with several companies that we use regularly, logos continuously go through iterations to redefine a brand or reassert their mission statement. I’m sure this logo, representing the letter “Y” in ASL as mentioned by hloo earlier in this thread, has meaning behind it. I think the YCash foundation may just be busy fighting on multiple fronts to address this at the moment.

My personal opinion is that none of the posts discredited anything. Everybody shared his subjective feeling/impression the logo gives, no matter if positive or negative, but nobody discredited any work associated with Ycash. At least that’s my impression and i tried as well to be as diplomatical and general as possible as i just got remembered by these posts how difficult it is actually to make a top notch logo. It looks easy but it’s not, it can take months to come up with something real good. Again, just as a side note as i’am sure a lot of people think it’s an easy task, it’s not!

My personal opinion is that it’s not too bad to have 1 single thread that covers YEC/ZEC issues, differences, opinions, whatever. It’s a direct fork so i could imagine there are a lot of ZEC users/holders that will have for longer an interest to get some news/updates/support/whatever …
But as said, just my personal opinion, it’s not me who decides which topic should be closed.

Just checked with my morning tea the exchanges and prices for YEC.
I wasn’t able to find a pair with BigOne and Citex, but than again i’am not a user there and these might be just available for registered users, no idea.
