zcash bug disclosure is a prime example of why the “correct FUD” part of AMG’s mission is so important. when everyone knew the CVE was going to be made public; should’ve been an all hands on deck moment. when i go look at different threads there’s only a couple random zcashers responding to the FUD storm. won’t be like that once AMG’s firing on all cylinders.

kind of a random thought …been thinking, and not sure this would fall under AMG’s purview, but twitter giveaways played a large role in bitcoin’s rise to public consciousness. zcash should follow this path. participants in the giveaways should be required to have a shielded address to accept winnings. this will increase usage of shielded TX, and give zcash a rise in public consciousness. will also show the general public, unlike bitcoin, it’s safe to openly use zcash on a public platform like twitter. gamification of twitter giveaways would be ideal.
somebody should write a “burn proposal”, but rather than burning the ZEC - ZEC could be sent to a pool, and given away on social media to help promote zcash.

would be interesting to try! not sure of feasibility. maybe somebody more knowledgeable could answer this. as-of-now zcash uses a “turnstile” that can audit supply via circuit value tracking.
It is already on my list and is in a couple of other proposals also too.
now that chainalysis has confirmed dash is no longer fungible; dash will be removed from the list of cryptocurrencies i’ve been working on that could be considered sound money. glad that happened before i had everything all put together.
Wondering how many forum regulars also tweet ?
Its all well & good coming up with messages & memes but they’ve got to get out there & spread somehow.
i’ve seen at least 6-7 forum regulars. all we really need is 5-10 dedicated people, imo.
also, i’m completely good with running educational “advertisements” on different platforms. people need to learn what true sound money is! educational outreach will certainly help spread our message, and they’re not too expensive.
have a feeling educational outreach will start an interesting public conversation over whether bitcoin, etc is truly sound. it’s a conversation that needs to happen, and it’s a conversation we’ll win (especially if we have 5-10 dedicated people ready to debate neigh sayers).
twitter is probably the most important platform, but reddit is important too. r/cryptocurrency is a battle ground that we’ve almost completely neglected. almost every zcash post i’ve made on r/CC gets brigaded hard.
After several days of quiet thought, research & observation I’ve come to a conclusion.
The best thing about this forum is its a quiet oasis where smart people hang out & behave nicely to each other.
The best thing about Twitter is exactly the opposite - so when you have a bucket of boiling septic bile to publicly empty over an idiot trolls head its the perfect place.

This is exactly what the software the forum was designed for, ‘discourse’ it is why I strongly oppose down votes and those sorts of changes to the software.
It is also why I only post on here and do not use social media. These forums are not a ‘safe space’ from criticism, but they are a place where you have to be civil and accept discussion of different ideas even those that oppose the very core of zec (see boxalex’s ‘joke’ proposal to increase the cap)
it is a place where you can interact with some of the smartest people and they will give you not only the time of day, but show you how to tell the time too. I wish the ECC gave more time to str4d and daira to express not just their technical opinions or job duties but also their feelings (like it used to be when ebfull started the “lets talk about asics thread”)
anyway, I think I might be a bit drunk. 
~ months 1-3 ~
~ month 1 ~ correct FUD, engage with/debate large social media accounts (at this point twitter’s the most important platform we need to pay specific attention to), and help build a larger social media presence for zcash (e.g. “XRP army” etc). this part has already been started; will be a top priority throughout AMG’s lifespan.
~ month 1-2 ~ begin ops to “seed” our language on all social media platforms of significance (e.g. “bitcoin’s not uniform”, “zcash is sound money”, “monero supply’s infinite”, etc). ~ month 2-3 ~ after our language is successfully seeded; visual memes will be deployed in a “shock-n-awe” campaign (thanks for this terminology chilibob, i love it). main purpose of visual memetics is to playfully pick at uncomfortable truths like a scab, until that scab becomes a festering wound. visual memes are much more effective after language has been seeded.
~ month 3 ~ outside of continuous/unrelenting memetics, and correcting FUD ops - build a website that posts pro zcash content daily so our people have at least 1 fresh link a day to post on their social media accounts (especially on r/ cryptocurrency)
