attacks like this do absolutely harm zcash, tho. have a theory one of the reasons zcash has faired better asia over the west is most of the damaging FUD is written in english on twitter.
This sort of thing would be common in an alternate universe where hitler OD-ed on crystal meth and Benito Mussolini took over the world. The little cog in the machine mentality is classic for state corporate fascism in Italy during his rule.

problem is this stuff works. ZEC’s been raked over the coals on social media for a long minute, and it’s been effective. exchange rates currently indicate people “trust” XMR over ZEC when zcash tech is definitely superior.
I know it works thats why people still use such techniques, because it worked before and hasnt stopped working as far as I know. I dont know how you would reach such people. Whenever I had a conversation with that type of person it turned into the “Little kid covering its ears and yelling I cant hear you LALALALA” Type of conversation.

I find bursting into laughter and calling them a ‘f******g idiot’ works rather well - there’s really no point in trying to engage them in a sensible discussion.
depends on if the person is a dishonest/honest skeptic. honest skeptic should work on, even if it takes weeks. one new person brings a potential network of users. agree, tho, shouldn’t waste much time on dishonest skeptics.

I dont get it how people can be this deluded. I mean take the Satoshi phenomenon people are starting to think he was some super human entity that created BTC that is just perfect the way it is.
The guy was a hacker he was probably paranoid and got the fck out of dodge before consequences (which was not a bad decision). If he was able he would be messing with BTC all the time.
In an alternate Universe where Riccardo Spagni was anonymous and Satoshi was lead BTC Core dev he would be working with Zooko and the team to encrypt BTC base layer and Zcash wouldnt even exist.
As for Applied memetics I am all for it, its just that Im shit at social media.

Did you apply for a grant at the foundation? Anything that increases z2z is crucial for the adoption phase we have recently entered. A functioning messaging system could be beneficial in many ways and could possibly lead to a functioning scalable governance model.
I have also been brainstorming a couple of ideas with something similar I want to try to run an ether smart contracts through code written on the zec blockhain in the memo fields.
While we are at grants, lets fund tm3ks zec parachute idea the amount of memes that would produce would be epic and if we were the ones controlling the narative it could prove to be VERY efective marketing. Something like him parachuting down (dropping) landing on his feet and getting ready to (pump) jump from another couple of thousand feet would be epic.

Yes I understand how it would work. One would view transactions as sectors on a hard disk. Use the encrypted information stored on the ZEC chain to create something readable/editable by humans.
I have a theory that humans would be far more honest if they knew that all their decisions were recorded on a blockchain. Encapsulating ZECs code on its chain could add to its anti fragility think of using a portion of the blockchain for zec to store its own code like a github backup. And moving ZIP proposals and voting onchain could be done with a private view key for every ZEC holder.
I am all for your idea and I think it should be funded as it could lead to some weird reddit/4chan/web crypto wallet encrypted communication system hybrid monster that will be necessary if ZEC is to service billions of users. We are in uncharted territory here humans have never created such complicated networks before.

Spam resistance by only showing messages sent with more than a minimum value.
The time a message is displayed could depend on the funds sent with it.

The “Privacy is a requirement not a feature” is good, I’ve used that one and also read it from various others recently as well
