What preceded this conversation is highly classified and only team flippitty-floppity alpha have clearance to view it. But one thing is for certain they cant ignore me.
looks like AMG was approved! this weekend i’ll write a very detailed proposal that will explain exactly what we will accomplish during our 1st campaign.
As far as Im concerned anyone even considering accumulating ALTS is smart money right now. Either that or Im totaly wrong about ALTS and were both dumb as nails. So Ive been following @kek s advice and searching for $zec #zec on twitter.
applied memetics is a highly experimental/new field, so it can be difficult to bid. after reviewing past grant winners, and figuring a bare minimum budget for success; decided 400 zcash ($15,000 at time of original proposal) would be the proper amount of funding to ask for.
these are the past grant winners i used for reference:
- art posters $2,500
- promo video $9,500
- outreach $5,000
AMG will be deploying a strategy that very roughly combines these three past grant winners. once AMG’s funded, and pay has been completely negotiated; i’ll post a much deeper breakdown of fund distribution on AMG’s 1st monthly forum post.

AMG will hire 2-4 (depends on the strength of my negotiation skills) of the world’s top “memetic operatives” to assist me with building original meme templates, work on zcash’s symbolism/lore, and other stuff i don’t want to talk about publicly yet. funds will also be utilized for twitter giveaways to promote usage of shielded TX, content creation including videos, and music (been writing lyrics for zcash tunes. think you’re going to love “swiss bank in my pocket”). this will be full time work including weekends, and holidays (best time to shill). in the case of large zcash price spikes; funds gained from rising exchange rates won’t be wasted! all funds will be poured back into AMG operations to help us sustain ops (hiring more talent, giveaways, etc).
there’s other stuff i’d like to add, but these are the things we absolutely need to accomplish in the first 3 months of our campaign:
- ~ month 1 ~ correct FUD ops, engage with/debate large social media accounts (at this point twitter’s the most important platform we need to pay specific attention to), and help build a larger social media presence for zcash (e.g. “XRP army” etc). this will be a top priority throughout AMG’s lifespan.
- ~ month 1-2 ~ begin ops to “seed” our language on all social media platforms of significance (e.g. “bitcoin’s not uniform”, “zcash is sound money”, “monero supply’s infinite”, etc). <— already started this part
- ~ month 2-3 ~ after our language is successfully seeded; visual memes will be deployed. visual memes are much more effective after language has been seeded.
when completed we should notice a large difference in the size of zcash community’s footprint on social media, and FUD attacks will lessen due to dishonesty being challenged.

zcash USD volume is $1.3 million - meaning ZEC is still illiquid! exact same problem we had in 2018 which inspired this post. we need to try something different
always felt zcash foundation should have it’s own marketing arm. really never liked the fact ECC is solely responsible for marketing. ECC is doing great work on the business development side of things, but this type of marketing will not effectively grow the user base. one of the most common complaints i agree with is “zcash feels too corporate”. we really need to shake that off. if AMG doesn’t get funded - ZF has to develop it’s own marketing arm, or somebody else absolutely needs to step-up and try. i’ll help you in every way possible. black PR campaign has already worked it’s magick.
Special care should be taken when approaching the funding issue people are unaware that zcash was in development years before its launch. More than 12% went to angel investors for the pre-launch development.
Also we do have zcash clones which are worth a percentile of the zcash market cap. It is obvious to everyone that the team behind zcash is what brings these prices.
For the halving pump the fact that, unlike all major players, zcash chain integrity has been preserved for its entire existence should be exploited. This is no accident. Zcash code is meticulously audited.
if we’re looking to increase our user base; somebody needs to get out there and sell people (normal people - not conference people) on this meticulously audited technology.
2013 primecoin was deployed. XPM at the time was pretty amazing. fast, reliable, no major technical issues, fascinating economic engine, ASIC hostile, and PoW has intrinsic value. ethereum was originally going to be built as a meta layer on top of XPM.
you know what XPM didn’t have? marketing! even though primecoin’s tech was (still is in many ways) very cool - nobody really tried selling the technology. the project died.
while i don’t think ZEC will suffer the same fate as XPM i do notice a lot of parallels - amazing technology, but serious lack of ground game marketing. due to funding mechanism don’t think ZEC will die, but could become one of those irrelevant zombie coins that just hang around.
ECC wants to make Zcash usable by 10 billion people by 2050. i want to see 10 million people using zcash by 2022.
now that we’ve decided we’re not going to adjust ZEC emissions - we need to be onboarding new users at a pace that lessens the impact high inflation has on exchange rates. only way to accomplish this is good ole fashioned shilling in the trenches.
shilling in the trenches is not glamorous work, but there’s no way out of this. zcash is in a strange position since we lost the people that would normally be shilling zcash when GPU miners got the boot. ASIC miners don’t even seem to care enough to vote on devfund issues, so i don’t expect them to replace our hardcore GPU shills. most traders have also taken it on the chin, so they’re not shilling much either. somebody has to do it.

agree, /biz/ is saturated. /x/ is a great place to shill (especially if you can incorporate zcash in fanfic). /pol/ is a place to shill because people there do need to practice opsec, but /pol/ can a little bit more difficult because XMR people have spread FUD about ZEC on /pol/. both /x/, and /pol/ are better places to shill than /biz/, tho.
