Zcash.me helps users manage a credible identity page and find people they trust when paying. Users can create a public profile page and share a simple link instead of a long address. People who receive the link can pay quickly from QR or wallet URI.
### Project Description
## Get paid in Zcash with a human profile
Users can create a public profile page and share a simple link instead of a long address. People who receive the link can pay quickly from QR or wallet URI. Users can manage their display name, bio, nearest city, avatar, and social media links.
## Denominate in fiat, pay with crypto
Users can choose a fiat currency (USD and many others), type a fiat amount, and see the ZEC amount update (and vice versa), with live rate refresh and persisted fiat input state.
## Send other crypto while recipients get ZEC
Users can start from supported non-ZEC assets and execute cross-chain swap flow so funds are routed to the recipient’s Zcash destination.
## Discover people who accept crypto
Users can find recipients by username, display name and social handle with improved ranking/matching behavior (including normalized handles and whitespace-insensitive matching).
## Use wallet APIs for integrations
Wallets can resolve usernames or social media handles to promote peer-to-peer electronic payments with Zcash. Wallets can now layer in richer directory UX next (search-first flows, profile previews, verified-link context).
## Verify ownership and authenticate identity
Users can verify address ownership through memo + OTP flow to approve profile edits and enable social media authentication.
## Peer-to-peer electronic cash at the Network School (`zcash.me/ns`)
Network School (NS) members can discover others in a dedicated NS directory page. They can post anonymous messages and donate to events. They can sell goods and services using our Point-of-Sale proof-of-concept.
## Understand referral performance
Users can view leaderboard metrics such as referrals, verified conversions, eligibility, active rewards, earned amounts, and commission-rate progression.
### Technical Approach (how you did it)
Zcash.me is a Next.js web application with a Postgres SQL database. It features a stand-alone background verification service to decrypt incoming requests and generate OTP responses. Social OAuth is integrated via Supabase. 1Click swap APIs are used for cross-chain execution. External market pricing provided by CoinGecko, Coinbase.
- Oct-Nov 2025: architecture modularization + verification foundation (Zcash-devtool).
- Dec 2025-Jan 2026: normalization/search/authentication. Verification moved to Zcashd RPC via VM.
- Jan-Feb 2026: swap/status hardening, guarded wallet APIs + librustzcash-based Zcash-Verification-Service.
