Overview
The Zcash Ghana Meetup brought together community members, developers, and crypto
enthusiasts to learn about the Zcash blockchain with an encouragement for participants to understanding the fundamentals of Zcash nodes setup, in order for them to run a Zcash node. The event balanced education with video presentation and interactive activities, closing out with a major community target of setting up at least one Zcash Node in no distance time, specifically before the end of January 2026.

Opening Session
● The meetup began with introduction to Zcash Wallets (YWallet, Zingo, Zashi), with a welcoming note from the moderator, Mr Edward, who explained Zcash as a privacy-focused blockchain, with shielded transactions by default and transparent transactions by option. Also, a brief introduction on how the node works was also explained.
● Video presentations were played to provide participants with key relevant information about the Zcash blockchain and the Zcash node setup.

Attendance
● Luma Registrations: 22
● Actual Attendees: 19

Event Photos

Outcomes
● Participants, mostly developers were exposed to the basic understanding of Zcash nodes setup.
● Practical experience in using Zcash wallets for shielded and transparent transactions..
● Community strength was reinforced, with participants showing enthusiasm towards the Zcash node setup within the timeline..

Challenges

  • There turn out dropped compared to the last event, as we had 22 persons registered and 19 attended

  • Some early attendees left a few moments after the event started due to late arrival of most attendees.

Areas to improve

  • Continuous encouragement on community members to participate in all activities

  • Improve on the event campaign awareness and publicity.

Conclusion
Despite the shortfalls, the Zcash Ghana Meetup was a success. The event educated participants who among them were developers, on how the Zcash nodes help to strengthen decentralized financial privacy, with demonstrations in shielded and transparent transactions, and this encouraged community involvement. Attendees left with both theoretical and practical skills, and the mindset of setting up Zcash nodes towards strengthening the Zcash’s position in the Ghana’s crypto space.
