Hi,

How to get a fee estimate for Zcash ?
I tried the function “estimatefee” (via rpc), it always returns -1, whatever the number of blocks (on mainnet and testnet).

Any suggestions ?

Current convention says tx fees are .0001 ZEC - It’s a constant to avoid leaking metadata. There’s been talk of lowering (by like a factor of 10) it across wallets, but that’s a p coordinated effort and I don’t see it happening any time soon.

You can set a custom fee on a transaction if you realllllllllllllllly want to and know what you’re doing, but I’d just rock .0001 and call it good
