Note that some of these new members will not be eligible to vote in the upcoming Minor Grants poll, as they have submitted Minor Grants applications.
We are also waitig to hear back from 25 other people who have been invited to join ZCAP, including more Zcon4 speakers, major grant recipients, ECC team members, and members of the Brazil and Spanish Zcash communities.
Thank you very much for the invitation to ZCAP!
It is a pleasure for me to support the decentralization and better governance of Zcash.
And it is an honor to share this important role with great people I met at Zcon4 and personally admire.
Thank you! Letās keep building.
I know some of these names and they are great names!
I donāt know if I was formally invited, but some members had proposed me as a ZCAP member, it would be an absolute honor to one day be also a member.
But everything has itās time, until then, congratulations to all new members!
Note that you can nominate yourself.
You were. Check your email!
Can I nominate myself to join Zcap?
I havenāt been on the forums for long but I have been following Zec since 2017 and invested in Zec since early 2018. Although Iām not very active on the forums or twitter I do closely track all developments and have a strong interest in the success of Zcash
Thank you for the opportunity!
Cheers to so many additional ZCAP members. (Iāve caught up here a few days late)
I would like to nominate myself to join ZCAP based on what @conradoplg mentioned above and considering that nobody else nominated me for me lol
I support @noamchomās self-nomination.
In my humble opinion, if anyone deserves to join ZCAP, it is him.
Thanks for the shoutout, @dodger! (FWIW, though, my name is misspelled in your announcement. I only have one āTā.)
Sorry about that! Fixed now.
is this sheets the official roster? Zcash Community Advisory Panel - Zcash Foundation
Yes but note that some ZCAP members are not eligible to vote in the current poll because they have submitted (or are part of a team that has submitted) a grant application that is being voted on in this poll.
Are the voting histories (in terms of participation, not a reveal of their vote details) of all ZCAP members and all polls maintained somewhere that is public, and easily viewable?
It would greatly help the Zcash community, if there was a baseline business practice of documenting polls, and participation among the ZCAP governing body.
If you visit the link of each poll you can still see who participated. But I agree it would be good to have this information tallied up, or at least having an index of all the past elections. I might try to do this for the ones I participated (last ~2.5 years).
Yes exactly! Because for the sake of observing trends in single and aggregate member participation, I think the community would be greatly served.
A public Google sheet could do the trick for the interim. Iām most interested in who has not been participating in polls actually.
It would also be good to disclose any and all relationships between the people voting and the people receiving money. And track the % of money and grants going to core blockchain development work vs other non core. Ideally, the vast majority of grants are going to people with a) no pre existing relationships, and its just all objectively based on the merits. That doesnāt mean developers shouldnāt be rewarded for delivering high quality work. So I would expect over time we would see the same people and they might develop relatations. So its more of a first time grantee. Then if the grantee develops a reputations for high quality on time work, they have a track record. and b) for core development work (as opposed to marketing and non development work). And how much money gets spent on projects never completed or that have issues such that they can not be implemented.
A bit of humor to remind us all of the importance and great responsibility of voting and exercising our duties as ZCAP members.
Have you already voted on the current Minor Grants proposals?
