GGuy for ZCG (June 2026)

Hello Zcash Community,

I am excited to announce my self-nomination for a fourth term on the Zcash Community Grants (ZCG) Committee.

When I nominated myself for a third term, I spoke about the need for Zcash to prepare for the “adoption era”. I believe we are still in the early stages of this critical phase. As I speak with new users, they frequently echo some similar views about the intrinsic value and core tenets of Zcash. ZCG recently outlined these foundational pillars in the ZCG Security & Vulnerability Disclosure Initiative:

The significance of these tenets is that they are all underpinned by our existing codebase. Protecting new and existing Zcash users is, without question, of the utmost importance to the ZCG Committee. Without certainty, or as close to certainty as possible, regarding these pillars, the ecosystem cannot thrive.

To that end, I have found myself focused heavily this year on efforts to protect Zcash users. From increasing the number of independent and organizational security experts reviewing Zcash code, to funding robust hardware wallet options, these initiatives drive user safety and reinforce the very guarantees that bring people to Zcash in the first place.

As we continue to build and grow in this adoption era, I would love to hear from the rest of the community: what are your own core tenets, and what is the primary reason you value Zcash?

Thank you,
GGuy :shield:

I had the opportunity to work with Gguy on ZCG for more than two years and strongly support his re-election.

Gguy is a thoughtful and independent decision-maker. He takes the time to understand proposals and ask tough questions before making a decision. If you look through his voting record, you’ll find someone who approaches each decision carefully and evaluates proposals on their own merits rather than relying on quick reactions or preconceived positions.

Over the past year, Gguy has stepped up to help keep the committee organized and operating effectively. Being a committee member requires much more than reviewing and voting on proposals. A lot of the work involves keeping discussions with the committee and grantees moving forward and making sure important tasks don’t fall through the cracks between meetings. Gguy has taken on much of that responsibility, helping ensure meetings are productive, discussions stay on track, and grant applicants receive timely feedback and support throughout the process. He has done all of this during a period when the number of grant proposals has increased significantly due to growing interest in Zcash and AI making it easier than ever to produce and submit applications.

Gguy has been a valuable member of ZCG, and I believe the community would benefit from having him continue in that role.

I endorse GGuy for ZCG. I believe it is important for us to persist experienced board members, especially those who have proven to be professional, organized, and dedicated to Zcash.

It takes a lot of time and passion to serve our community in this way, especially in the age of AI-driven submissions. Thank you for being open to continuing in this capacity, I wish you the best.

I agree, he has stepped up a lot in last 6 months and is very valuable at reviewing very technical grants.

@GGuy is experienced tech-savvy, thoughtful, and Zcash aligned.

He’s frequently skeptical of Zingo Labs projects, to our benefit.

He has my vote, because I know I have to earn his.
