I set up a mining pipeline to produce a block with a shielded coinbase transaction. I used it to mine a few blocks on Testnet and then block 3222336 on Mainnet. The mining reward for that block is the first ZEC that has not seen the transparent pool or zcashd and lives entirely in the Orchard pool. I hid two Easter eggs in it, and I’m offering the reward for the block as a bounty to whoever finds them first. The bounty is still up for grabs.
Along the way, I’ve revamped our mining documentation and Dockerized the setup.
I did this to test the implementation of ZIP-213, which adds support for mining blocks with shielded coinbase transactions. I used these machines to mine the block with the Docker setup mentioned above.
